He had been walking the camp again that day, with nothing particular on his mind. A few soldiers had asked to spar with him, as well as a knight from somewhere Darien didn’t know, and thus he had come back to his tent in a tired state. Now however, with this new information on hand, he felt a mixture of anger and excitement. “Lying bastard…” he mumbled to himself as he thought up a swift plan. “Got it!” He said to no one but himself and hurriedly made his way in the direction of the yard.
Arriving there he had to wait for about an hour before a group of young Westerners entered the yard and starting training. Darien watched, not too obviously but also not inconspicuously; He wanted the men to notice him. And that they did – A few glances from some of them, until when they were done two of them made their way over to him. “And who might you be?” One of the men asked him. With a smile Darien nodded his head. “Why, I’m Darien Stone. And who do I have the, ah, honor of talking to?” The younger of the two fellows stifled a laugh whilst the other one replied with a proud look on his face “I’m Brian and this here is Lukas. We’ve only recently arrived and are excited about meeting so many heroes. You however, I have never heard of. You don’t look like much.” Darien raised an eyebrow and frowned. “I found most of your fellow Westerners to be not so mouthy. ‘Tis a shame, seeing as I might have had a job for you and your friends.” The fellow named Brian laughed and nudged his friend Lukas with his elbow. “He’s offering us a job! Why would we want to accept, huh? Don’t even know who you are!” Lukas seemed to find his friend japes hilarious, until Darien suddenly shot forward and grabbed Brian by the throat with his right hand, the other holding a dagger to his crotch. “Listen you shitty little brat, I’ll tell you who I am. I am the brother of the late Lady Aranya Lannister and cousin to the former hand, Lord Roland Royce. I killed a lord of the Iron Islands for his sister, captured and tortured one of the most dangerous assassins in Westeros, and killed two assassin knights with a blunted blade. Most recently I helped defend Deep Den, being one of the last 500 men standing and having killed three of the Basilisks Champions and a Lieutenant. Now, who are you?” Both Brian and Lukas stood motionless, a mixture of awe and fear on their face. Their friends, having come closer at the site of one of their friends being in danger stood much the same. After a heavy silence Darien chuckled. “Thought so. Now, all of you will work for me. I want you to find Clive Lannister. I want one of you to sneak into his tent and look for a pretty sword. You’ll know it when you see it. I also want one of you to sneak into Ser Cedric’s tent and see if that sword might not be there.” He thought for a moment, then spoke up again. “Have a look at any documents you may find as well. Anything suspicious, you bring it to me. Understood?”
The men nodded in unison, before hurriedly making their exit.
