The battle had started, and Gawain was in the van. They met the small (in comparison to the masses) force of foreigners head on, as his horse bashed into the line, sending a masked fighter to the floor. Blood sprayed into the air like a mist, as shouts and screams filled the air. This was war.
Sending his shield into the head of a man, from atop his horse, Gawain wreaked as much havoc as possible, causing much trouble for the Lieutenants of the Foreigners, as one struggled to keep control of his men against the tide of battle. Working his was towards the man, he and his men marked their worth on the battlefield in blood and iron, leaving nothing behind.
"Push with me!" he yelled out to the men around him, as the Vale Bastard, Darien Stone, was next to him, and they pushed their way through the ranks, in arrowhead formation. With Darien and Gawain at the head, yelling as they charged, the foreigners balked, as Templeton fell into his element, even more deadly than before, removing one man's limb from body with a vicious swing of the blade.
Templeton cut down men left and right, swatting away the long halberds and coming in close where they could not damage him. He made his way further and further in, before the tide of battle separated him from Darien, as he was caught up with a Lieutenant, and Templeton pushed on with his force of men. The now disorganized men of the Basilisks fell to the Knight of Ninestars with seemingly no end, until the voice of the Envoy leader cried out, organizing them and pushing back, though it still did not match the ferocity of the Crownlands.
"Tighter!" he yelled, as his men came closer together, making their defensive more compatible, as they were nearly surrounded in the mass. Templeton cut down another three men before his horse reared from a halberd swing, sending Templeton to the dirt, dazed for a moment. Coming to his senses quickly, he rolled out of the way of a swing aimed for him, surely ending his life had he laid still.
Rising to his feet, he swung his sword, cutting a gash between the man who tried to end his life's collar and pelvis. "To me!" he yelled, and almost immediately, three of his best soldiers were at his side, cutting down all in their path. His fighting was blood thirsty, yet technical, devastating the army in front of him. A curved blade came from the side, barely visible through Gawain's visor, as the masked soldier approached him. Gawain took the hit to his shield arm, causing blood to flow, and his thirst to grow. The sword did not fully hit it's mark, as the blade glanced off, hitting Gawain under the chin, sending his helmet flying. Turning dead eyes on the masked soldier, the man balked slightly at the demonic composure of the Knight of Ninestars, as his black hair, slick with sweat, fell over his black eyes..
Lazily cutting down a man who got in his way, Templeton advanced, at a steady pace towards the back treading soldier. Upon reaching the man, Templeton cried out like a beat of war, losing all control, and quickly overwhelmed the soldier, not stopping for death, as he mutilated the body, removing limb from body, stopping only to kill a man who tried to interfere.
The horns of retreat blew and dutifully, though unwillingly, he ordered his men back, killing what men he could, while both armies disentangled themselves. Reaching his injured horse, he brought it to it's feet, before joining the Crownlanders on their retreat back to the Deep Den.
