Looking back at Steffen, "Jon Royce had a motive, but would have sliced Allard down in the public; then he would scream of his victory in public. I would not be surprised if this turned out to be Allard slipping away to become a hero. Or something more dark."

"Gods know. Perhaps you should send me to join the seige of highgarden. Or on a secret deadly mission with odds of success a million to one. Hells, you could send me to find your son if you want. I have contacts. If he has simply run away, i could find him quite easily. If it is something more sinister, like as not i would be able to discover the person responsible and arrange a release. Im not sure you trust me enough for such a task however," Steffen grinned.

Steffen stared at his uncle.
"I thank you for this, and if you wish me to end our feud then i will. However, you will never make me forget what you did uncle.
As for a wife, it does not matter too much to me, one of the royces seems the most obvious. Perhaps if i married one of his kin young Jon would forget his oath to kill me." Steffen chuckled to himself.
