The grainhouses of the villages surrounding Deep Deen are emptied, and most of the available game is hunting down, cleaned and brought into the castle. Peasant men and soldiers alike work together to bring down some of the trees and carry the timber into the castle. This timber will be used for fuel and other purposes.
The rest of the woods are burned completely, killing the game inside and destroying the trees, which now cannot be used for fuel, building siege engines, or any other purpose. The remaining game - woodland animals and birds - is reduced in numbers due to deaths from the fires.
The wells of the emptied villages are poisoned.
