Sounds like a good storyline. I was gonna write a scenario for Scot in which he has to kill a clansman. I'll also have the admins put up a couple of rumors... Good idea.

Andrew-- if looking for adventure on land, Laren and my third will be doing some clan stuff deep in the mountains of the moon.

I've submitted the rumors. Scenario soon to follow. Laren, you're still not looking to be a fighter right? So Scot can fill some of those duties... If that's changed let me know. We have to decide a bit on how we want to take this little campaign. Tedmyn's Down is a poor place, and the clans around it are also poor and sparsely populated, so it won't be a big war this time around.

Well, let's say I don't need Laren to become a fighter, but if it happens. Guess it depends on how things'll develop.

And besides, wouldn't I have inherited some place myself? Usually lesser family branches are also given a place somewhere, or?

Your father likely owns something somewhere.. could just be a house or a single farm up to something like a small holdfast (Tedmyn's Down is small or small-to-medium).

Ok, it's just an idea.... but wouldn't it be possible that the Clansmen in the Vale have some connection to the Wildlings or rather the Wildlings to the Clansmen. As we know Winter is coming and I think The Smith is planning something on the long run up North and there have been the first signs for something happening there (even if people tend to forget).
So what if there were some Wildling families in the Vale, fled from danger in the North, who encouraged the Clansmen to do some raiding (winter provision...).
It is known from the books that some small groups of Wildlings made their way south of the Wall and the Clansmen would certainly be more kin to them....
And we would have a storyline with more possibilities.

These are the rumors I sent in:
#1 - "The Other Other White Meat"
Food is grown so scarce deep in the Mountains of the Moon that the Royces have taken to spitting and roasting Clannish for dinner.

#2 - "Angry Clansmen!"
Proper folk are on the run deep in the Mountains of the Moon as the Clans are emboldened by hunger. Their Lords and Ladies are all dead and raped.

What you're suggesting may be a possibility. I don't think there's any specific connection between wildlings beyond the wall and the mountain clans, and while they are certainly closer to kin (following old gods) I'd imagine the mountain clans to be territorial vs non-clan wildlings in addition to andals (us). I'm not sure, really. It could be an interesting storyline... send something over to smith with your ideas, and he may be able to make that subplot part of something bigger he's working on. (or give you another reason for the clans to be getting uppity besides hunger)
