Ser Swift stumbled out of the bar smiling at the man escorting him out. “Yew… remember that name, old chap. Or some other rot.” The Knight stumbled away from the bar and vomited onto the walls of the stable next door. Wiping at his brow Swift rubbed at his brow and smiled. Sure he was nauseous, sure every man and woman in that bar thought he was an idiot, but he had found his man and gotten the slip of paper he needed.
Ser Yew began to stumble down the streets of King’s Landing whistling to himself. He was merry and drunk and those were his two favorite states of being. Some where along the way he had gotten a reputation as a deadly fighter, it was patently false, but he used it to travel the streets safely.
Stumbling into the Dancer’s Bow Yew made for the steps up to his room. Walking into the wrong room, he smiled and bowed at the man and woman making love behind the door. “Lady Manning. I sincerely apologize for the interruption.” Looking at the man atop of her Swift continued, “Give my regards to your husband when you see him.” He bowed and a small drunken laugh escaped his mouth.
Finally he stumbled into his own room, removing his sword he almost fell to the ground. Looking around he sees Denard perched at the window staring into the night. Swift smiled at the man and laughed, “Lady Manning is fucking, Lord Pyle’s eldest boy two floors down. Most energetically I must add.”
Denard Algood turned to face Swift. His face already sour, it seemed to pucker at the sight of the knight. “You are drunk again. Did you least get the message?” He spat uncaring onto the bed.
Yew looked at the pool of spittle on the bed. “That is disgusting, chap. I have to sleep there.” Then he removed his shirt. “But yes I have the message. And it is a yes. The last piece of Cedric’s puzzle has been completed.”
Denard frowned, “The plan is too complex. It should be simpler.” His gaze measuring Yew he added, “Some of the pawns are just not capable of their tasks.”
“Denard, my old friend, you are a gem.” Yew chuckled as he removed his vomit stained pants. “I notice you do not complain about the parts of this that you added to Cedric’s plans. Only the ones Cedric and I plotted.”
Algood turned away from the naked man, “Why the fuck are you stripping in my room? Do you want to fuck me?” He was clearly embarrassed by the other man’s actions.
Yew looked down and laughed. “I am sorry I forgot this was your room. One moment.” Picking up the clothing he walked from the door into the hall. Denard stood and drew the knife Cedric had given him and imagined plunging it over and over into Yew’s heart. Then he walked over to where Swift had dropped the note he had received. Reading it a small smile appeared on his face.
When Ser Swift Yew reentered the room he noticed the smile immediately. “The man has agreed to our price, and will be serving Cedric with even more devotion then his previous employer. The last piece.”
Denard nodded, “The last piece.” Looking up he cringed at the scarlet robe and boots that Yew now wore. “Your boots don’t match.”
Yew shrugged, “I only put them on because there is puke on your floor. Did you know that?” He pointed to where his vomit had dripped on the other man’s floor.
Denard winced as he cut himself with his own blade.
