Two weeks after the Queen took charge of it, a large house on Pisswater Bend in Flea Bottom is renovated with solid wood and comfortably furnished, with high stone walls built up around it and a tall, heavy iron gate fixed.
The new hospice is run by godsworn brothers of the Faith, who are skilled healers and caretakers. They are known as the grey brothers because of their robes, and the Elder Brother of the hospice is Brother Nyles, who apparently came in from a septry near Rosby.
Lady Sara's Hospice takes in a great number of orphan children in Flea Bottom, and the Queen already plans to expand it by buying over winesinks and potshops on either side of it, to accomodate more children. The grey brothers act as tutors, spiritual masters, healers, and general caretakers to the orphans. The food at the hospice is prepared by a cook sent from the Red Keep's kitchens.
The Queen makes clear to wealthy citizens and lordlings that charity donations to the hospice will not go unappreciated.
