Hunting at least the way we do it here, doesn't involve much chase... much more in the way of strategy. It's just about impossible to actually sneak up on a deer, so you actually lie in wait and kill them when they get close to you.
Hunting birds is kind of fun, since you basically walk around with a shotgun, wait until you scare something out of the brush and then shoot it while it tries to get away. hehe. Much more my style, but I've been living overseas or in the city for a long time, so haven't done much of it in years.

Also, yeah, it's really pretty brutal, so if you're squeamish it's probably not a great idea. I mean it's not a lot of blood or anything, but very few shots on a deer actually kill it immediately, especially with the bow, it will run and then die later. The only thing that actually drops a deer is if you nail it's spine (which is a bad shot).

Ask the admins. I doubt it matters, really, though she'll be a lot older than her husband, which is usually frowned on because of childbirthing issues.
