The Lord Hand is in the lead, closing in on what he believes to be a truly prize worthy boar, when the first quarrel goes flying overhead, followed by another. The Vale Knight, the terror of the Clans, did not hesitate for a moment. Giving out the call, the he wheeled his horse towards the nearest sellsword, and ran him through with a boar spear. The Hands Guard, charged as well into the midst of the enemy, hacking and slashing as though clearing debris. Aranya's bowmen began laying down fire in an attempt to supress the enemy on the other side of the column, while here spearmen followed the Vale and Mander lords.
It was Odhar Royce's Vale knights who came away with the worst of it, taking heavy casualties from a barrage of close range crossbow fire. But once that was completed the men of Westeros took their vengeance on the ambushers.

Round 2:
With a rebel yell, mounted lancers, led by dreaded traitor and oathbreaker Torrhen Keath charge from the flank into the party's position at the head of 200 men.
Party #1: Roland Royce: 100/110 Aranya Royce: 0/90 Lord Qorgyle: 70/70 Odhar Royce: 70/80 Tallahar Tyrell: 100/80 Total: 190 Men V. Mercenaries Osgrey Sallanador:70/70 Torrhen Keath: 50/90 Total: 265

The Lord Hands troops continue to decimate the would be ambushers, as the Clan Killer impales men on his lance like a Dornish kebab. Aranya Royce and Tallahar Tyrell team up to close in on Sallanador, cutting him badly in a two on one fight. The Lyseni sellsword turns tail to flee, and Keath rides him down, which steadies the mercenaries despite their weakening position. Lord Qorglye takes crossbow bolt to the thigh, and drops to the ground, out of the fight.
Remaining Men: Party #1: 162 Mercenaries:120

Round 3:
Suddenly flames began to lick up around the rear of the Party's position, as pitch imbedded in the ground is light by waiting sellswords. A wicked fire soon rages behind the Crown's position, terrifying horses, and burning men.
Party #1: Roland Royce: 100/110 Aranya Royce: 0/90 Odhar Royce: 70/80 Tallahar Tyrell: 100/80 Total: 162 Men V. Mercenaries Torrhen Keath: 50/90 Total: 120
Rolling
Party #1: Roland Royce: 131/150 Aranya Royce: 0/135 Odhar Royce: 56/129 Tallahar Tyrell: 76/175 Total: 162 Men V. Mercenaries Torrhen Keath: 130/180 Total: 120
The fire does the work that the sellswords had not been able to do, sowing confusion among the Party and raising their casualties, as men and horses together scream as they catch fire among the underbrush. Roland sent the tip of his lance through a Volante crossbowman's visor, and than turned, screaming for Lord Tyrell to restore order. As he did so, he watched Odhar Royce take a quarrel through the breast plate, the force knocking him from his horse and onto the ground. Aranya moved quickly, standing over the Vale Lord, and cutting down two swordsmen who thought to finish him, while Lord Tallahar was deep within the enemy hacking down man and horse with the same ferocity with which he had slain Lord Mormont many years ago.
Results: Party #1:137 Mercenaries: 110

Round 4: The Reinforcements
Suddenly through the wall of flames came ten men in shining white, Lord Benfry, sword raised over head in the lead. Behind them Lord Irwyn's screaming veterans, the King's Men, and the Goldcloaks brought up the rear.
Party: Benfry Smith:0/160 Aemon Webber: 143/100 Mychel Lannister:81/153 Galwyn Fell: 110/103 Elwood Mooton: 0/194 Alexander Irwyn: 154/145 Patrek Redfort: 181/112 Roland Royce: 196/154 Aranya Royce: 0/146 Tallahar Tyrell: 134/167 Total: 432 Men V. Torrhen Keath: 138/189 Total: 110 Men
The fighting rages now, although the sellswords can see the end is nearing. Torrhen Heath fights like the second coming of the Demon, hacking apart men with his long handled axe like they were blocks of wood. Only a determined effort by Elwood Mooton the Swordsman of Maidenpool, keeps the Riverlander from cutting his way to Benfry Smith, the two lock in single combat, as the fighting disintegrates around them. Roland Royce's Hand's Guard cuts its way through towards the Hand's downed father, while the King's Men take their vengeance upon Horas' troops for a slight never to be forgiven. Blood washes over Patrek Redfort as his men systematically destroy any mercenaries who manage to still stand in a united front.
Irwyn's veterans fight with the same vicious determination they showed at Hellholt and Lemonwood. Aranya's spear strikes out like an adder, thrusting with such strength she drives the head through a man's ribcage, and up into a second man's throat in the same swing. Lord Tyrell, his cloak now more brown than green from the blood of his enemies, finishes the last of the original crossbowmen with a gleeful shout.
Party:368 Mercenaries: Destroyed, some captives taken, most killed.
Next up: Elwood Mooton V. Torrhen Keath
