Lord Kellington undressed from the fine livery he wore for another ]night of important parties and laid his clothes on his bed back in his chambers at Blackhold. He went into a drawer and pulled out rougher worn clothes, clothes that he trained in. He dressed next to an conveniently placed arrow slit, and watched part of a late night market scene take place. He enjoyed the mundane tasks of the commonfolk, and would occasionally go into crowds of commonfolk, dressed simply, and interact with them in their own "tongue".
He was very impressed by some of their intellect and skill, especially at bartering. Even recently when he had visited the training yard on a frequent basis, he had seen and sparred with very skilled individuals...ones he had pegged previously as poorly practiced men. Kellington enjoyed the irony, and knew full well that his noble blood alotted him no free skills...that is why he was here in the first place. While a silver tongue and a keen eye may keep his friends and the realm safe, all men can perish by steel if they don't know the blade well enough. After many weeks of pondering the idea he had decided to delve further into the style of fighting with a short-sword, one he preferred to the commonly picked longsword or greatsword. It was not too long or heavy, and it felt comfortable in his hands. He was no knight after all, and even if he became a fighter he was not meant for the battlefield. Small personal encounters were more his style.
That is the way he fought and continued to train over the next few weeks, honing his skill amongst the smallfolk of Westeros and when his sore limbs prevented him from doing much more than sitting he started to send out paperwork. The paperwork was a step towards the creation of a new network in Blackhaven. The network would be composed primarily of guardsmen, serving maids, servants, and cooks in Blackhaven. These, Lord Kellington felt, were the most prime dangers for Lord Dondarrion while he stayed at his seat. Kellington himself found little trouble as he tested the waters over those few weeks...the people of Blackhaven already loved Breck as their Lord, and the great majority did not wish ill upon him. But Kellington was not naive, he knew that in each city there are those willing to commit wicked deeds for the right price. And if those men were hired by enemies of House Dondarrion...it could be fatal. So Kellington worked with all his energy to form this new network, and watched it slowly but surely bloom into a reliable one. Even if he would never become a fighter, he knew he was master of his craft in the world of whispers.
