I've told Barret that is is the King's decision. I sent a PM to Callen yesterday with my objections. I can only hope that he understands.
Meanwhile, it looks like Randal wants to speak with Rhodri. I wonder if he's after the same thing? I'm about to go out, so I can't reply to him yet. But if he does ask for Jeyne's hand, it might be the perfect chance for me to publically give him the same answer I gave Barret -- thus making my response to Barret not "personal".

Callen did agree to rebuff Barret, and I informed Barret that it was the King's choice and he seemed fine with that. We'll see how it plays out. I've invited Randal in; we'll see what he wants.

Piers choose a different direction. A beetle would have been to predictable for him. Plus he wants every one complimenting him on his lovely gown.

Wait did not Callen just offer that to Randal Lannister?

Check out the New Goldsmith's manor. Callen offers it there too.

Do you notice, Callen asked Barret to take whatever he wants, then offers Randal the Master of Laws. I do no think Callen expected Barret to ask for that post. Or he is trying to cause strife between those two houses. If he is well played. He should keep all of you at each other's throat.

What suddenly started bothering Aranya at the ball so much that she ran away?

That's Brandon for you.

I don't know if I can tell you why, but Aranya basically missed a cue that she'd been waiting for all night. To be fair, I was on the phone for the better part of the ball, but my concentration should have still been there. You'll probably find out what it was all about once Aranya gives birth. I guess I'll have to reread the thread.

I just want to point out to all the Royces that Rhodri got conveniantly pulled away the moment Piers asked Becca about their sexlife. I think that clearly points out the fact that Rhodri has some itsy, bitsy teensie, weensie secret to hide.

We were running out to go to the playground -- the kid goes nuts if she doesn't get outdoors.

OF course Rhodri... what ever you say. I of course have since thought of the perfect response, but it is too late. Like so many times in my life...

Speaking to Piers:
The mother of three looks at Lady Bettley and says, "My dear, it should be enough for you to know that I hate children."
