Gawyn will recieve a negative modifier for the general skill archery being applied to a weapon he has little experience with.

As this does not seem to be a competition, but rather practice, I will simply roll a few shots for each and tell the results.

The target is at a medium distance. A shot of 100 or above is a hit (higher numbers indicating hitting closer to the center).

Gawyn takes a while to warm up to the unfamiliar weapon, and his first two shots go wide. Soon he gets the hang of it, however; his third shot strikes the center of the target, and the two after it are also solid hits.

The King's Men captain proves slightly more adept. The wind takes his second shot and it flies wide, but the other four make satisfying thumps as they bury into the wooden target.
