"Which is why I know she is nothing like us," Rolf said. "She plays by her own rules, although she hasn't done any plundering since she was a girl, I think. Still, I think you would find life with her exciting. And you would be Captain Asha, and you could pick your own crew." He glanced around the table.

"Certainly," Rolf said courteously, with a grin, and he ordered another round of ales for them. "And how will you slip into Duskendale's harbor, my lady? With your brother's ship? Why wouldn't he just take a ship for himself, instead of giving it to you? But enough, we are here to be friends, not provoke you. Do you know Erik Coldiron?"

"He was at..." Rolf stopped. She wouldn't give a damn about Coldiron's wife.
"All right...I don't want to buy you like you're a sellsail. Would you just agree to meet Lady Aranya?"

Asha considered. "Yeah, sure, I'll be here until the Lordsmoot anyway. My dumb fuck of a brother is gonna put his name in, and get laughed at by everyone."

Rolf grinned. "I am sure it will be interesting. How long is the lordsmoot going to continue for?"

"Well, till we have a lord, I'd figure." Asha said flatly, draining her ale.
"Who wants ta finger dance!" she cried, pulling an axe from her belt, and tossing it into the air, catching it behind her back.

Rolf and Darien didn't rise to the challenge, but Rolf offered to bet twenty silvers that she'd win.

Asha waited for a moment, but didn't seem to get a challenge. She huffed, an sat down.
"Bunch scared little women, they are." She said irritably, as she threw the axe hard into the center of the table, where it stuck.
"Rolf, more ale? or were you leaving already?"

"I love ale," Rolf said amiably. "And I hate drinking alone. Will you have some, my lady?"

"If yer buying than yes I will." She said, "Another round on this fine greenlander with the big purse." She said, grinning.
"So Rolf, where were you, before your noble Lady swept you off your feet, from your tiny podunk little village, to wash her feet, or whatever the fuck you do."

"I was a soldier in Rhodri Arryn's army. Well, a spy and scout, really," Rolf said. "And an interrogator. I am from the Vale, a little village on the Coldwater lands. Duskendale is better."

"So no long ship for you eh? Just a warmer clime?" She laughed in Rolf's face, and leaned back to drink her beer.

"Ships aren't what I am after," Rolf said. "Just money and a good job. What about you? You enjoy being on your brother's ship?"
