"I don't think anyone's suggesting the the frog-eater be scooped up and tortured Lord Regent," Coldiron said with a smile, "I would think observing him would be prudent, though more a matter for our mistress of whisperers than our mistress of laws. But than... our current Lady of the Law has a thirst for intrigue, apparently."

"But not subtlety it seems" Benfry replies, remembering the fiasco in Braavos

Benfry chuckled "Passion is good, Lady Aranya but anger makes for poor judgement. From what I have seen of you, that is your greatest weakness. Conquer it and you will make yourself a more formidable foe"

The King enters with Lord Smith and says, "Tristeza Martell has offered to face the penalty of her crimes, if we allow her son to inherit the Lands of the Martells. I truly wish for the woman to be executed, but I worry it may be a violation of our deal with the Sea Lord Sergyo Delinal."

"I am staunchly opposed to any Martell inheriting any land in or near Dorne... Regarding the children, could we not foster them with some loyal house to grow and learn. If the Seven favor them, perhaps they may win themselves some land that their own children could inherit."

"You realize you already gave the lands of the Martells away? I don't think re-gifting is like to endear your grace to anyone. " Said Coldiron, chewing on a fingernail.

"Well we aren't like to take this deal are we?" said Erik incredulous. "So what difference does it make. The child will go wherever the mother takes him, and if she steps foot in Westeros again, its an orphan, and will go wherever orphans go."

"Tristeza must face the King's Justice, and there are no other alternatives. Whether she was or was not, she is seen as responsible for the most deaths in the last decade than any other single individual. Grant her or her son any inheritance or lenience and we'll face rebellion from a dozen bannerlords."

"Lady Aranya, my point was, we only come into control of the child IF we accept her ludicrous proposal to trade her life for a Lord Paramount position for her child. And since we aren't going to take that deal," he looks around the council as if to say We aren't are we?, "The issue is irrelevant. Unless that is, Lord Smith is willing to play the Snake false and capture her for trial. But some how I doubt that."

" Aranya bit her lip and thought for a while, her brow furrowing. Aranya was harsh in her justice and had no sympathy for Tristeza Martell, but her one softness was for children. "I am in favor of telling Tristeza Martell that if she turns herself in, her children will be raised in a sept or a hospice, and will learn a humble trade to earn them a living under the King's watchful eye. Some place where they can live decently, but never be in a position to cause trouble." "The problem, Lady Royce, is that no matter where that child be brought up...they will present a definite threat to the stability of the realm. Take him in...but don't let him know of his heritage, give him foster parents who claim to be his birth parents. He must never know where he came from. The price for failure to do so is potentially monumental."

"Accept her offer, and take her child, but let no one but us know of the truth of the matter. Execute her and take the child to a sept where they will be raised as an orphan of war. If we are the only ones to know the truth, we can create our own...it is true lying is a vice, but think of the lives we will save, and the alternatives we create for ourselves."

"As distasteful as dishonesty is to me, I believe Lord Caron has the right of it. Her children must not know their heritage. Let them be claimed by some family to raise as their own, or in some sept as an orphan, but it's better for all if the Martell line disappears, though I will not resort to killing babes."

Rickon looked around the room. "The child has commited no crime. He was born legally to Lady Martell and her husband. The lands we gave away we did because there were no heirs. We did not rip land away from any one who stayed. Lord Horas had no choice but to run he was a child."
The King clenched his fists, "I will not punish the boy for crimes his parents committed. The lands are his. If Lady Tristeza wants to turn herself in and be executed to get her son back land I would give him already. I will not stop her."

"My King, the lands by your own order are not his. House Martell forfeited all lands by not submitting. It's not a matter of punishing the child or not, he's inheriting what his mother has... To be specific, nothing. If you give him what were once Martell lands you will be making a certain enemy of Lord Hillcrest, and by all rights. Furthermore you incite all families who may have held claim on one land or another claim to that land. The realm could fall to chaos from such an action. I don't look to punish the babes, but law must have meaning... Particularly those that are laws you enacted."
