Brandon sat in his chambers pondering what to do. Shrugging his shoulders he went for his travel chest, deep down there he found his potions and poisons. Sweet sleep for a good night of rest if he needed it, though too much would ensure that he didn’t wake up. It was a gentle poison. Basilisk Venom caused those eating it to go mad with bestial rage, a mouse would attack a dragon after consuming it, women would kill their husbands and fathers would murder their children. There were other poisons as well, rarer ones, and some mixed with others, his personal recipes. One caused dementia, a poison from a cactus that could be found near Hellholt, one caused temporary paralysis. There was a weaker version of the poison causing dementia, it would make one forget the last few days, and continued use of the poison would cause real dementia. There were poisons that made people more agreeable to notions that they wouldn’t otherwise. It was useful for getting people to sign things as they did not suffer of any movement disruptions.
Brandon had always been more interested in the potions that changed peoples personalities and behaviour, like basilisk venom, he suspected that would make him a good brewer of ale and wine, perhaps perfumes too. He had made smells before, enhancing putrid smells in a food chamber and the reverse, removing bad smell from putrid food, which made for food poisoning without any proof of the actual deed, though it wouldn’t do if the food tasted awfully. The human mind was a mystery that probably never would be solved. Maybe that’s why he was so intrigued by Lady Demezla Uller, and maybe now starting to fall in love. She was a book with thousand pages, and when you think that you’ve read it all you find yourself with another book with more pages.
He had recently made two other versions of the basilisk venom. One was a weaker version; the target would not fall into a bestial rage, unless provoked. It would have to be something that made the target angry, as he would not attack aimlessly for no particular reason. The other one was as strong as basilisk venom but it made the target mad with lust instead. It would be a hoot at social events, except for those involved that is. The potion could be applied through the same means as basilisk venom, on cooked meat causing a savoury smell. Though since it was colourless and smelled relatively little on it’s own it could also be used to paint fingernails, a valuable tool for seduction.
Brandon walked out of his chambers and managed yet again to avoid his minders. He found some guard's uniform, dressed and left for the village.
Walking casually in the village he saw one of his messengers standing idly about. He bumped into a man who crashed into the messenger. Brandon caught her before she fell, and moved away with letters in his pocket. He saw another of his agents and took the letters in the same method. The agents would notice later that they had a new set of letters on them along with silver stags. He made his way past the guards in their own uniforms, them being none the wiser.
Result:
Brandon increase poison towards grandmaster
Brandon increase stealth towards grandmaster
Brandon invents a new type of potion named the Tempress of Hell
