The ancestral home of House Reed, Greywater Watch sits on a massive crannog, constructed ages ago. The floating island is made of countless layers of wooden logs, branches, rocks, clay, peat, and other earthen materials. At the center of the crannog several stone hearths are built from flat rock slabs, and huge keep surrounds them, made of wood and stone. Around the fringe of the floating crannog is a thick, sturdy wooden palisade, sharpened into deadly spikes at the top and laced with poisonous vines growing on the outside. Greywater Watch is nigh impossible to locate for anyone other than the crannogmen, for it constantly moves throughout the shifting wetlands of the Neck.

As Edmure Karstark rides north on the Kingsroad, a group of crannogmen garbed in their dark grey-green linens and leathers approach the young lord. They have received world from Olander, and invite the Lord Karstark to Greywater where he might make the acquaintance of the women of House Reed.

The lord of Karhold is brought onto the massive floating crannog home of House Reed and greeted by the dark-haired thin lipped Tregar Reed. He wears a dark linens and and leather armor made of black lizard-lion skin, and the bow slung across his back is there more of habit than for any potential use.
"Lord Edmure," he says to the young lord with a smug smirk, "My brother informs me you're hear to steal away one of our women."

"From what I've seen of you crannogmen I wouldn't be able to if I wanted to." Said Edmure with a slight smile.

He chuckled dryly. "True enough. Come, we have a meal waiting in the hall. You can rest your feet and meet your future bride."

Edmure followed the crannogman to the hall of Greywater watch. His young body eager to meet the fair maid and his heart to meet his future wife.

The hall was warm with the scents of rich, earthy spices in the air, the hearthfires crackling merrily. A few crannogfolk were just finishing laying a pleasant meal, a place of honor next to the vacant head of the table for the Lord Karstark.
"As you might of heard from Olander, my lord father is still taken ill. In his stead I would invite you to our table to partake of our food and salt," Tregar Reed intoned, gesturing to Edmure's place, next to his own.

Edmure scanned the small yet homely hall and the interesting meal placed before him.
Bowing low to the man "I am sorry Ser, but I forgot my manners and forgot to ask the name of my gracious host."

He smiled pleasantly. "I am no knight, Lord Edmure, but I am Tregar Reed, younger brother to Olander. He sent word to receive you graciously, and I pray that I have." He gestured to the food before him, simple yet heartly plates of spiced mutton, buttered vegitables, and boiled eggs, as well as more exotic things like honeyed frog's legs and pepper-fern roasted fish.
"Please, sit and eat," he said, pouring the lord a glass of mulled cider. "Let us talk while we eat. When you are rested, we shall bring my sister and cousins about."

"And there is no need for Lord Edmure Tregar, just Edmure will do. It truly is an honour to be welcomed to Greywater very few men have ever come to this castle and even less have left it, the crannogmen have a reputation as cunning warriors." Said Edmure as he was served a portion of the mutton and vegetables.

"Cunning out of necessity in the face of men larger and stronger, truth enough, yet cunning all the same," the famed archer said, beginning to chuckle. "But you have my thanks, Edmure. And worry not, friends of House Reed come and leave in safety."
After they had finished eating, Tregar had the empty trays cleared. "Tell me Edmure, how many years have you seen?"

"Ah... 15 by now so pretty much a man grown Tregar but I have been almost ruling by myself at Karhold since I was 13 my Maester say that boys become men faster in the north then the south."

Tregar nods silently with a smile, but says nothing. With a languid gesture of his hand, a parade of three waifish crannogwomen are ushered in. Each is similar looking as the next: short, spear-thin, with small, firm breasts and tumbling hair ranging from the color of wet straw to the color of black mud. They are pretty enough creatures, for the most part, with a dusting of freckles across their noses and bright green, brown, or hazel eyes.
"I present to you the Ladies of Greywater," Tregar murmured, "My cousins Milra, Pypar, and Kyla." Milra was the eldest of the three, a few years shy of thirty. Kyla was in the middle, a couple years younger than Milra. Pypar is the youngest at ten and eight years, the closest to Edmure.
Each girl smiled and gave a polite curtsy, studying the Lord of Karhold as much as he would have studied them.

Edmure stood as the ladies entered the hall "Ladies it is an honor to meet you all, you may already now but I am Lord Edmure Karstark at your service."
