It was the last day of the year that Beric went downstairs and announced his plan to his companions. Gaharr looked
angry, Janos shocked, Morho amused, Norizs insane and Zandros... Zandros looked like he usually did. "I have been
thinking this over for a long time now and it seems like this is the right decision. Janos, I leave you in charge
of things around here. Gaharr, Zandros, you two will come with me; Your advice is going to be needed." Gods, lets
hope this really is the right decision Beric through to himself. He had mulled it over so much that he couldn't
even remember when he had come up with the plan. He knew leaving would have consequences. Tristeza Martell was
somewhere out there, as well as Elijah. He hadn't seen the man since... he couldn't even remember. But he knew he
could not just sit around doing nothing, letting time fly by. They had been in Braavos for several months now and
Beric could not bare to do nothing. This was the only thing he could do.
After all good byes were said Beric asked to speak with Janos in private. When they entered the small room Janos
looked very lost. "Lo... Beric, why do you need to leave? What is it you are doing?" "I cannot tell you Janos,
not everything at least. I do not know how long I will be gone, but I will be back, that I promise. And when I
return we can move ahead with our plans." Beric idly fumbled with something in his pocket. "You are in charge now,
Janos. When something happens I want you to act in my place. You know me well enough now to know what I would do
and I trust in your decisions." Janos only nodded. The young man looked pale, and Beric could not fault him for his
feelings. He was leaving this young man who trusted in his leadership behind, with two men he could hardly
communicate with. He had taught Janos some more braavosi and had told Norizs to do the same.
Outside, Beric mounted Shadow, his two companions allready sitting on their horses. "Try and find Elijah and
Tristeza." Beric said to Janos as the man came outside. "Give them this letter. It states that I have
officially left you in charge and that your words are to be trusted." Beric handed Janos the note. "Be sure
to do some training while I am gone. If everything goes as planned you are going to need it." And with that
he turned his horse and led his men off.

Janos looked after Beric, Gaharr and Zandros for a long time. What was he to do? He didn't know how to do all
of the things that his lord had done. He felt a hand on his shoulder and as he turned he saw it was Norizs.
"Do not.. be sc... scared? Do not be scared, Janos. He knows where he doing." The man's broken westerosi
was better than nothing and Janos could still understand what he meant. He just wished he knew what Lord Beric
was doing. He had ridden off in his black armor, helmet under his arm and Dawn on his back. It had almost looked
like he was riding off to war.
After a long time Janos finally went inside again. He was not a man for drinking much but he decided to enjoy
a nice cup of wine. As he grabbed a cup Norizs suddenly shot at him with a speed he didn't know the man had
and wrenched the cup out of his hand. "Not.. this one! Poison!" Janos understood. The man had made some poison
a while back, for what use he did not know, but apparently it had been spread inside some of the cups. "Which
cups have poison?" He asked the old man slowly. Norizs grinned as he pointed to a row of cups. "Black spot on
side. Small but when look, can see. Not obvious." Janos nodded and decided to have his bit of wine directly
from the bottle.
'I wonder what else is poisoned.' he though as he went to his room. "Damn it!" He shouted at no one in particular
as it finally sunk in that his lord was gone. He tried to calm himself with a big gulp of wine and it seemed
to work. That night, Janos drank himself to sleep. He needed it.
