Lord Tarly had acquitted himself during the War of Dornish Secession, and was one of many lords who married young Dornish women in attempts to secure Dorne's relations with the other kingdoms in the future. Though it worked to some degree, since the Dornish war, the Far Reach has grown reclusive and xenophobic, causing Ser Samuel to be somewhat disdained by his peers. Samuel was only three years younger than Lord Loren Irwyn who squired for Lord Tarly, so he developed a close friendship with the son of the famous Alexander Irwyn before the young man earned his spurs and return to his own holdings. Samuel was one of three children, with two younger sisters, and he served as a page and then squire for Lord Foster Redwyne in the 530s, earning his spurs at nineteen, though he never truly developed a relationship with any of Redwyne's sons, all of whom were several years older. He also never took to life at sea, and proved to be a poor sailor despite Lord Redwyne's best attempts. Samuel returned to Horn Hill after his squireship, where he has remained since, training with the sword and bow and lance, and going hunting with his father who has remained one of the staunchest supporters and followers of Lord Hightower's leadership. He often goes hawking, owning and breeding falcons as a hobby. Samuel became the Lord of Horn Hill in 546, much to his horror, when his father was killed by Ipthius Tides during King Rodrick's Trial of Seven. He remained in King's Landing after the surrender, as per the King's edict, and his first son and heir, Justin Tarly, was born to his wife, Lady Bella Redwyne in the late months of 547. The next year, however, Lord Samuel sent his wife and son back to the Reach, when religious riots in the capital began to intensify. Character's Physical Description: Samuel stands just short of six feet, with a moderate build. He is well muscled from his years of training as a knight, though he is not the enormous giant that many knights grow to be. His visage does not at all betray his Dornish blood; he has shoulder-length brown hair that falls in an unkempt tangle and a brown beard covers part of his face, though he keeps it relatively neatly trimmed. He has high, prominent cheekbones and brown eyes, giving him a rugged look, which draws the attentions of women with little difficulty. He tends to shy away from wearing the bright reds and greens of his house, preferring earthier tones like darker greens and browns. Character's Reputation: He is known through the Far Reach as the young heir to Horn Hill, though some in the Far Reach look down on him due to his mother's Dornish blood. He conducted a few raids into the Mander during the Rebel's Rabble and participated in the short battle north of Horn Hill, though he bent the knee with the rest of his countrymen after the failed Trial of Seven.

He was raised and groomed to be his father's heir; he had good skills with the sword and lance, as well as an analytical mind that could grasp tactics and administration, such as what it takes to be the lord of a feif such as he would inherit. When he was eight-and-ten his father was murdered by an archer that had attached himself to their large hunting retinue. The man had attempted to make it look like an accident; as a boar had raced at the lord, the assassin fired from behind and hit Lord Mychel in the back of his shoulder, allowing the boar to tear him open with its tusks. Jaymes had just earned his spurs and had seen the archer aim his shot carefully before firing, so he ordered the man captured and interrogated. The assassin was tortured until he revealed who had paid him and when he finally died, in the dungeons under Faircastle, only Lord Jaymes heard his final words. The next day his brother Jon, ten-and-seven years old at the time, was charged with treason and murder, and was executed. His wife had died in childbirth one year prior, leaving a healthy orphan son named Lancel who was the heir to Faircastle for three years until Lord Jaymes' own first son was born. Lord Jaymes raised his nephew with his own children and took the boy to squire on his ten-and-third name day. Lancel requested to join the King's Men in King's Landing, and was knighted by his uncle after the tournament in that city was completed, though Ser Lancel was killed during Lord Horas Blackwood's coup in the Red Keep, covering the escape of his Sworn Brothers. Lord Jaymes married the eldest sister of the current Lord Smallwood of Acorn Hall, and had five children by her. His first son and heir, Lord Duncan Farman, was born in 510, but died at sixteen fighting against Basiklisk invaders. His eldest daughters was killed in Lannisport by the same invaders, though his youngest daughter escaped and eventually married the Lord of Kayce. His second son, Lord Dylan Farman, was born in 516, and became lord at ten when his brother died. Jaymes' wife died in 521 giving birth to a stillborn baby that would have been their third daughter. Shortly afterwards, Lord Farman's children were sent to Casterly Rock to be fostered by the Lannisters, and Lord Jaymes himself never returned to Faircastle. He followed Lord Regent Maurin Lannister in following the doomed rebellion of Horas Blackwood, and later he was captured in the Redwyne Straits and held on trial for murdering an Ironborn lord at the order of the Lannisters during a melee in King's Landing. He admitted his crime and was sentenced at the Grand Council in 522, by King Rickon himself, to death but was allowed to take the Black after renouncing his lands and lordship. He harbors a deep hatred for the Lords of the West, who he believes sold him out to worm their own way back into the good graces of the throne. He reached the Wall and said his vows in late 522, becoming a Sworn Brother of the Night's Watch, for the rest of his life. He was sent to the Rangers, and assigned to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. He served in the Night's Watch honorably, quickly rising through the Ranks. When Lord Commander Bracken died in 535, Jaymes had already become the Commander of Eastwatch, and he won the election among the Black Brothers for the control of the Night's Watch. For the past ten years he has commanded the Night's Watch well, though the wildlings hardly posed a threat for many years after the Battle of the Milkwater. Character's Physical Description: Lord Jaymes stands at six and a quarter feet, and thin. His body is mostly wiry muscle and his face is long with a pointed chin. His hair is auburn, though grey has begun to spread from his temples, that falls lazily down to his shoulders and his eyes are a deep smoky grey, almost black. He fights with a long bastard sword and favors speed over plate armor; he is extremely fast and tall enough to wear his hand-and-a-half sword at his waist instead of on his back. At five and fifty years, his hair is more grey than auburn, though his body has not lost its musculature and his eyes remain the same. Character's Reputation: Lord Jaymes is known as a man who dispenses justice expediently. He is a skilled sailor and an even better captain; his Valkyrie, a gift from his father when he was knighted, boasts three sails and two full decks of rowers. Two ballistae are anchored at the bow on the topdeck, and two at the stern. All four rest on cunningly fashioned hinges that allow to them to be rotated in any direction to fire. At the bow is an armored woman from which the ship drew her name, armed with a spear and shield, wrought out of fine steel facing forward to tear into an enemy ship's hull, though it was confiscated by Lord Redwyne in 522. Though he was following orders from his overlord, Jaymes is now known to the realm as a convicted traitor and murderer though he has since served in the Night's Watch with honor and risen to its Lord Commander. Every man of the Night's Watch know of their Lord Commander's skill with his blade, but they also know of his skill at coaxing information out of unwilling captives, one which he has employed often in his tenure as Lord Commander.

Third Character's Name: Ser Ryam Flowers Character's Age: 22 (b. 527) Character's Nationality: Andal (Reachman) Character's Skills:Master Sword Master Espionage Novice Stealth Beginner Small Blades Character's Skill Increases: Spring the Trap (Part I), 545 AC; Spring the Trap (Part II), 545 AC; Sparring and Planning, 546 AC; Marching to Nightsong, 546 AC; Putting Down Roots, 549 AC; Character's Personal History: Ryam was born under very strange circumstances. His father was never known to him or anyone else, and his mother died shortly after his birth very suspiciously. She was in training to become a septa in King's Landing when she became pregnant, and when Ryam was born she sent him to be raised at her family's estate in the Far Reach. House Hutcheson was a minor knightly house, sworn to Stoatsheart, and his mother was found dead in King's Landing several months later. She never told anyone who the father was, and Ryam's uncle Ser Radek was killed by Lannister troops while investigating her death. When he was raised as a page in that household, although he looked like no other reachman, with golden hair and blue eyes. He squired for Lord Cyrus Varner, showing decent skill with the sword, but far better skills in the areas of information gathering and moving around unnoticed. He was knighted by Lord Samuel Tarly shortly before the Trial of Seven, where Cyrus Varner was killed, and so he has served the Lord of Horn Hill since. Character's Physical Description: He looks very unlike a reachman, with golden hair that he keeps relatively short, and light piercing blue eyes. He is an average height and build, decently muscled from training at arms but not as heavily built as most knights who devote their lives to physical fitness. Character's Reputation: His reputation is nonexistent outside of the few people who know him personally.
