"But of course, any time, good Ser." Ser Devon leads him to a well-suited quarter. "Just to the left and up the stairs, and if you need anything just call."

"Thanks," Ser Allain said, and bade him good night before disappearing to his chambers.

The next morning, as Ser Devon heads down from his bedchamber, Victor is waiting for him at the foot of the stairs. "This just arrived, Ser. It's from the Lord Regent."
Blinking his eyes, Devon took the missive and eagerly cracked the seal and quickly scanned over the message. "Good news, the Lord Regent has accepted. Very well, then... upon Dougal's next name day, we shall ride to the Great Sept. Also, is Ser Allain still at rest?"

Ser Allain appeared, dressed, and bowed low. "Thank you for your hospitality, ser, but I fear I have imposed myself on you for too long and must now take my leave."

Ser Devon returned the gesture. "Very well, good ser. Best of fortune to you on your travels."
After seeing Ser Allain off, Devon went to wake Dougal with the news.

"Love, you know we--"
Ella gave Devon a stern look and shook her head. "Devon, don't give me that bullshit excuse. You know bloody well you've been planning on doing this ever since he was dropped on your doorstep. I've known ever since we met." Her expression softened somewhat, "You don't need to explain it to me, and you certainly don't need to make some ludicrous excuse. So, now that the Regent's signed off on it, go and have it done... and this time bring a trophy home from the tournament."
Devon's eyes widened, but he was again cut off before he could speak.
"I've known since yesterday, Sina told me, and asked if you were going. Just you damned well better be home before the baby's born, or I'll come hunt you down." Ella nodded with finality and headed off to her chambers, where her maid was drawing a bath. "And hurry, you don't have time to dawdle."
Devon stood shocked for a moment, his jaw slightly unhinged. "...umm... goodbye, dear."
Devon and Dougal made preparations and were soon off.
Ser Devon and Dougal Hill riding to King's Landing, then immediately to Duskendale.
