"Elena?" Aranya smiled as she sat down. "Even with Piers in hiding, we are all moved by his hand. But I trust Elena, and I know that she is extremely clever, subtle and well connected. I hope she joins us soon."
She leaned forward a little. "Benfry, you were telling me that Lord Jon Lydden had come to you with a matter concerning his brother, Mors, and certain war crimes he had committed. Mors was the commander at Lemonwood and Hellholt, was he not? All the Dornish battles were savage, but I would like to know the facts of the matter."

Benfry spread his hands "I'm afraid you know as much as I, Lady Aranya. All I have to go on is the reports I received from Lord Irwyn on the actions he took. Lord Royce may be able to do a little more digging for you when he heads down there, but you are welcome to look through the correspondence I have received from Irwyn as he fought down there. I think the witness statements from Lord Jon and the others there will be of paramount importance however"

OOC: The trial is done in the Throne Room thread, so we can wrap this up, I guess.
"It is curious and suspicious that Jon Lydden would do this to his own brother, for crimes that are a part of war. Still, I will hear what he has to say."

"He says he is driven by a desire for honour. The Lydden's have been prickly on that matter since the outcome of the coup. The do not want to get tarred with the same brush as Marten & Maurin Lannister"

After the trial, Aranya returned and said, "Well, it seemed to me that Jon felt some jealousy for his brother's successes. It tasted of slander, but we shall see how this plays out in the future."

OOC: Huh? I only with-held Caron from speaking because I thought it was inappropriate for a Master of Coin to try and weigh in on important matters that didn't concern his duties. This is a belief I had about how the Small Council works IC, and only recently I was told otherwise. Can you give me a little time to change the way Caron works IC? It's not an IC matter that prevented me from having him speak (it's nothing about his character), but rather an OOC belief I had about how the Small Council was run. In fact, I thought he was not even called for matters that did not concern him.
