Maester Maurin read the letter carefully as the ship started the voyage to King`s Landing. Then he threw its torn pieces into the sea, his pretty face scowling.
His brother Marten was always a bit of fool. And now his desire to seek vengeance because of that Bolton girl brought doom to his chance to rule the West. Maurin always embraced his heritage- Acolyte and Novice among others- he has never forgotten about the fact that he was the scion of the Lions that ruled, fought and schemed for ages. But as Measter he had to be loyal to his order above all, he was no longer Maurin Lannister but Maester Maurin. He sat back to the railing and put his hand into his arms, trying to understand all implications.
Yet he had grand ambitions of his own. He was always eager to learn, but his investigation with regard to mysterious death of Elaena Bolton opened new world to him, when Archmaesters allowed him to study the most guarded lore of the Citadel. And his journey didn`t end with reading such tomes... he actually managed to light the Obsidian Candle himself and use is to see distant sights! Of course, not all subjects he had to master to achieve the link where captivating, not at all... He cheated to get the Ravenry link, which made him feel quite uneasy upon forging the link.... every Maester was expected to deal with ravens. Fortunately he spent the days prior to the departure assisting with the Citadel ravens, of course with his new rank he could order Acolytes to do the cage-cleaning, which annoyed his so much before. With the risk of humiliation away, he was ready to prove himself in King`s Landing. He looked far into the distance, and grinned as sun set in rhythm with his dreams.
Results: Maester Maurin is sent to King`s Landing to assist the Grand Maester and perform some of his duties until he returns.
Maurin learns Beginner Ravenry.
