Studying the walls of the clean solar he shared with Lord Dondarrion, Liam went in and out of consciousness. Darkness had taken Hellholt a few hours after they had arrived in it, and his bed had become a sanctuary of thought. It was strange for Liam to grasp that only a matter of months ago had his life been dramatically different. He had been happy then, he had had desires, he had a bethrothed...Liam began to sob violently, and smashed his fists against the soft cushioning of his bed. Hours of insomnia lay before him and Liam, lost in thought, was none the wiser to his young friend Breck, who lay weeping in his bed across the length of the room.
Breck had perhaps endured much more than Liam had, especially given the fact that he had never fought in a real battle before riding into Dorne. Almost all of Breck's life had changed in the last year, and he was unsure if he had the strength to deal with all of it. In between fits of quiet weeping Breck thought back over all the battles he had been in, all of the command he made on the battlefield, all of the swordwork he had trained that payed off in the long run.
Breck watched himself armored, fighting, and shouting at Yronwood. He watched himself yelling orders outside Kingsgrave, Sandstone and many parts of the wide Dornish landscape. He had undoubtedly improved in his ability at battle strategy, but he was undecided whether this was a positive thing for him. He floated out of thought for a moment and in a moment he let his weariness overcome him, falling into a well needed sleep.
When Liam had finally realized Breck's silent sobbing, he had silenced himself, coming to terms with the fact that perhaps he served as a model to the boy. As he lay in bed he heard Breck's sobbing stop, and hoped this meant that the boy had finally gotten sleep. Liam sat up in his bed and rummaging in the dark he found and wrapped himself in a dark cloak. Stepping up from his bed, Liam walked the short distance to the door, and opened it slowly. He examined the guards half asleep at the door, and a few guards patrolling the corridor nearby. Mustering all of his skill with the shadows Liam swept past the guards and into the darkness of the halls. He picked up speed as he clung to the shadows of the halls, and made his silent rounds of the castle.
At one point in the course of his hour's silent creep in the castle, he was almost noticed by a guard. Turning silently back around the corner, Liam fell back into the hallway as he picked up speed.
Doing his best to silently make it back to the room he intentionally woke the guards who let him back in the room, albeit after a bit of confusion.
