Maester Gunder seems torn between seeing Brandon rot his brain on trite filth, and giving away his own personal collection. Finally he relents, and moving quickly through the stacks, pulls a book from the shelf. "The Doom of Valyria and the migration of magick, Vol. 1", by Archmaester Baldmir.
"That should you for a start." He says, handing the book over.

Brandon smiled at the man, "thank you, Maester, and yet again good luck with the cult research".

Brandon nods farewell, not really bothering to correct the man on his title and settles down to read the heavy book.

///////////////////// Brandon rubbed his eyes as he finished the book, it had only taken him a few days to go through the book. It had brought up a good deal of points, but he didn't believe the author at some points. He places the book back to where it belonged and looks for some other book.

After awhile of searching, Brandon finds a copy of Beldecar's History of the Rhoynish Wars. As he sits down to examine it, a Tall thin man, wearing a black robe, and a maester's chain enters the library.
"Ah good day master Royce." the man says, as he goes to the stacks looking for a book. Finding what he was looking for, he takes it out, and returns.
"Forgive me, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Maester Niman."

"Good day, Maester Niman. I did not know that a castle had more than one maester?" Brandon said.

The man looked at him quizzically. "It does not. I've served here for quite some time."

Brandon blinks in confusion, "I met a man who called himself Maester Gunder, he had a maester's chain, two valyrian links if I remember correctly".

Maester Niman looked at Brandon as if someone had dropped him on his head as a baby. "Maester Gunder was the Maester who served at Hellholt before I did. I replaced him, after he died."

Brandon opens his mouth and closes it thinking about somethingt to say. "How long have you served as Maester here, Maester?"

"Lady Uller did," Brandon smiles almost loosing his trail of thought at the thought of her. "How old was Maester Gunder when he died, if you don't mind me asking?"

"He was still spry, perhaps as old as 50, but not much more than that." said Niman, proceeding to describe the man whom Brandon had seen a few days ago in this very library.

"Did you know anything about him loosing popularity in the Citadel as he forged his valyrian links? Maybe some mention of him actually going to Rosby instead?" Brandon asked.
