Fowler Ambush

All right fellow reachmen. We need to find away to draw Fowler's army out into a battle. If he keeps ducking and weaving he is going to decimate the forces of the Mander, Riverlands and West, I leave us out because we are pretty smart about how we move about.

Obviously dealing with a Man like Fowler is a challenge as he is a Legend and he has home field advantage. Chasing after him into the mountains of Dorne is a non starter.

So my idea, if the Stranger things there is a chance it might succeed is to try and lure him into a trap.

So of course we have to offer bait and I can think of nothing better then the destruction of the Butcher of Sunspear.

Here is my plan.

1. We leak information that Alexander is being summoned my the Lord Hand to meet him in Yronwood to answer questions about the atrocities of Sunspear. Aemon Webber is placed in command of the Crown Forces in the mean time.

2. A retinue of about 5,000 men flying the banner of Irwyn leaves Godsgrace, enroute the the shortest distance to Yronwood.

3. The main army flying Webber's Banner is then marched towards Skyreach. Except, once in the desert the calvary is then broken off to double back and follow the path that Irwyn is taking.

4. Fowler will hopefully take the bait and setup an ambush of the area. We will send a small scouting party, large enough to detect them but not large enough to entice Fowler into attacking them. They will try and locate them but if they recognize signs they will feign ignorance and send word back that the ambush is approaching.

5. Once Fowler springs his trap he will lay into the 5000 men led by Steffan Florent and that is when the calvary following behind is sprung and charges Fowler's men from the flanks and rear.

It kind of reminds me of the scene from the Patriot but with more men.

The only sticking point is whether Fowler would take the bait or not and I am trying to get a feeling before I write out a scenario.

For my untrained eye, the big key here is to make sure the information gets leaked to Tristeza both IC and OOC so she knows about it. It would be terrible for this whole planned to go unnoticed.

This is true. I was going to create a rumor as well as send a letter to Kingsgrave informing the commanders there. The ensuing scramble for power there to fill my spot will undoubtedly create enough buzz that hopefully the Dornish will learn.

Well the Stranger has said that Fowler will come and fight in the field but it is just us vs them in one battle to decide it all. It would be us versus a legend, since Aemon Webber is going to take ill.

It will be bloody, are you guys interested I think its unfair to put your characters at risk for my own selfish interests. Basic rule is that if another character scores 100 higher then your roll then you die. With great risk comes great reward potentially. Oliver if you have changed your mind and want to join after the Dornish have killed your wife as well please do I could use your skill!!!!

Although, it is all about playing your character so you have to respond how you have to respond.

Alex, I am loath to have Robb killed off so early, but hey, what is war if there is no risk of dying?

Robb would no doubt march with his leader.

Although, will we be outnumbered? We have almost every major keep in our possession now. Godsgrace, Vaith, Lemonwood, Sunspear. Starfall, High Hermitage, Blackmont, Skyreach, Kingsgrave, Wyl, The Tor, Yronwood. Do we need to risk open battle, Alex? But whatever you decide, I am with you. I am just stating some of my thoughts.

I understand that although we still need to defeat Dorne's army, or we will have guerrilla warfare and assassins for 100 years. I really don't want Alexander killed either as that would mean I would basically have to start over from ground 0 again. We won't be outnumbered but, Fowler is a legend so he will get a +10 advantage on every dice roll. You are master now though so you would have to roll a 20 or lower and Fowler a 90 or above to harm you.

I was also thinking of challenging Fowler to single combat but that would be risky as whoever hit first would most likely win and then Alexander would surely die if he lost.

I forgot about Brett I added him to the battle thread although maybe I shouldn't have in case the worse happens. Oh well you better live or it will be the end of the Tarly line until your bastards are legitamized.
