Wat sat in his solar disturbed by the recent news. "The other lords will believe that we had a hand it in, Wat," Maester Coleman said. "I know that!" Wat snapped. "I have heard no tales of suffering from the Rills, Barrowlands or Torrhen's square. And doesn’t the bloody sheep of Torrhen go to the Bloody Wintertown in the winter”? ” I would assume so," Coleman said.
"The idiots mock our cause when they do it oh so randomly, I won't have it," Wat said. He was more pale than red of anger. The lords would make an army and bloody quarter him. "Get me the three Wats, please".
Wats hand was almost shaking on the desk, he tried to read a book to calm himself but flung it at the wall as it didn’t help. He paced around idly in the solar. Should he support the rebellions? He had no friends or family in the other places in the North, truth to be told the only people he cared about was Stoney Shore’s. How would the folk of Stoney Shore react to the news? What should he do? He couldn’t just turn his back on the smallfolk if they had the rights to revolt. Wat cursed.
The three Wats came in. “We’ve heard the news of our fellow folk. This is good news indeed!” Lumberjack said. “This happened at the worst time ever. The lords should have seen that they should treat people better when our revolt happened. Everything might fall to pieces now! I am sending you to investigate the places. White go to the Rills, Brown to Barrowton and Lumberjack to Torrhen’s Square. Find out why it happened and if there was a good cause and reply accordingly.”
Wat looked out of the window. Stoney Shore was at a crossroad. If they didn’t help the smallfolk they could well be stamped as traitors by the other smallfolk, and if they did help they could be annihilated by the lords armies that would come. The lords wouldn’t believe that he hadn’t had anything to do with the recent revolts. Wat wondered what the future would bring, and for once he was utterly terrified.
