First I went to keep wars down for awhile, but that is out of our hand.
For Ten Years Rickon will be King, the best King we have had I hope. Then evidence (Journal of the Maester who birthed him, the witness of a lady-in-waiting, and finally the confirmation from his mother herself) that he is the second son not the first. Rickon will resign. The right thing to do.
Rodrick will get the crown, and be the worse king ever. Order up armies for tax disputes and that kind of thing.
Of course that leads to a giant war, where Rickon's goal is to kill his brother so that he inherits the throne. For the good of the realm.
I want to start connecting each of them to different Regions so that war is truly something. And people love one or the other.
Obviously who we choose for them to marry would helpt with that.
When the Big war between brothers is happening I think Saella Targ will return with her mature Dragons.
So this winter is going to last another eight years, and then two years of SUmmer before the Big all important Winter with the Others. I want it to come right on the heels of the big war.
I honestly do not know what we should do then. But we have a couple of months to think of it.
Between now and then I want to amp the intrigue and lessen the martial nature of the war. But as to how I am going to do that your guess is as good as mine.

Well, let's start by saying that During winter, fighting is very difficult, because there is very little food. Cut army sizes down to 25-50% (the amount you can afford to raise and feed. They have the others, but they can't use them for much because they can't feed them.) Frequent blizzards to interrupt any fighting which does break out.
Rodrick is obviously tied to the Stormlanders, and perhaps gaining attracting to the Iron Islands? I donno after the ship seizure, Felryn might be pissed.
Rickon will be popular with obviously the Vale and the North possibly the Far Reach or Mander?

Yeah... but we can see how it happens I mean we have months. I just want us to be thinking about it as time goes by
And I agree about the Winter stuff.
