Roose seems to be talking to himself up there. Should be confronted with actual forces which require battles to sap his strength?
Is there some punishment to his men for sitting up there freezing to death with no food?
I'd propose we simply post events killing 10% of his people once a week.
You'd mentioned you had other ideas of what to do about him, but I don't think you can take 25,000 men without a baggage train beyond the wall and not have people dropping like flies.

I have always been hesitant to introduce Wights or Others since that is the Big Climax, and we are never really aiming for a Big climax.
And I think I told you that I was planning on punishing Roose's force, but with all the balls in the air I think I let that one drop. So I would love for us to do the penalties.

Okay. I would think a simple event would be best. Let it startle him without warning. I definetely wouldn't invoke Wights or Others, although some Wildlings mounting a spirited defense with Mammoths or something wouldn't be too out of bounds would it?

Wildlings would be fine. On Mammoths and maybe some giants.
