Peyton motions for Godswind to take a seat, and begins.
"Before you begin, you should know that were it not for the rather odd set of circumstances, I would not think of modifying our deal any further. You've already been quite understanding, and I appreciate that. However, I think you are going to be interested in this. Lord Farman has recognized the betrayal by Lord Lyddens as an opportunity to speak the truth, and he has now done so, publicly before myself, and also in writing. He swears that he both saw and assisted Marten and Maurin Lannister in the killings of Lord Merlyn, and the attacks on Lords Coldiron and Harlaw. He can also confirm the murder of Drumm. Additionally he is willing to testify at the trials of these men. In exchange he asks that his judgment be reserved to the crown rather than our.. uh.. private tribunal, with an expectation of some kind of reduced, non-lethal sentence. I told him I would confer with you, but I believe this is a worthwhile deal. Lord Farman was just following orders, and it is the true instigators who should face consequences. Are your lords willing to let a little fish off the hook, in exchange for catching two leviathans?"

Theon looks at Redwyne for a long time before speaking, "his confession is very important, do you have it in writing?"

"I do. signed and sealed. But I think his live testimony is very important also, since men tend to trust words spoken directly to them more than letters and seals, which they presume can be forged."

Peyton slides a piece of parchment over to Godswind. it reads:
I, Ser Jaymes of House Farman, Lord of Faircastle, swear in the eyes of gods and men that what I say forthwith is the truth and nothing else. The events that occurred during the melee event of the Tournament of King's Landing leading to and resulting in the deaths of Quellon of House Drumm, Lord of Old Wyk, and Alagon Merlyn were not of an accidental nature. Of the team fielded by the Lord Regent of the West, Lord Maurin Lannister, only Ser Terely of House Brax, Addam of House Marbrand, and Ser Justin of House Prestor took no part in any criminal activity. After the City Watch disarmed the all of the melee competitors of their live steel blades, Lord Maurin Lannister provided myself, himself, and his son Marten Lannister each with a dirk of live steel. He ordered me to kill Alagon Merlyn and, as a bannerman to House Lannister, I obeyed. During the confusion of the fighting, Lord Maurin stabbed Felryn of House Harlaw, Lord of the Iron Islands, and Marten stabbed Erik of House Coldiron, Lord of Bear Island. The two latter did not die of their wounds but Alagon Merlyn bled out while he lay on the field. After we had each struck, Marten collected the dirks and placed them in the saddlebags of his horse and, in order to remove the evidence of our crimes from the field, slapped it causing it to run off in confusion, which several horses did during the fight. Lord Quellon Drumm saw our actions and Lord Maurin ordered Ser Walter of House Plumm to end his life. He and Marten attacked the lord and killed him.
I swear, by the Seven and by my King, Rickon of House Baratheon, the First of his Name, King of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, that these words are truthful, and I submit myself to his royal justice.
Signed, Ser Jaymes, son of Mychel, of House Farman, Lord of Faircastle

Theon reads it then slides it back. "It is good to know the whole of it finally," Theon says thoughtfully.
"He should live, at least to confess at the trial of these other men once the king is put back on the throne. I will send word of this to Harlaw, and I'm sure he will consider asking the king for leniency in Lord Farman's case."
"No word of his confession should get out."

"No, I certainly agree. You may tell your lord, and I will tell my Lord Regent, but there shall be no more of it. Also you should be aware, that the Lord Regent Benfry Smith is free from captive, and is at the head of the Army in the Far Reach, I received the word today. Your Lord will be pleased by that fact as well I'm sure."

"Very pleased, it is good to hear the Regent escaped the Crow's clutch."
"We will leave Lord Farman in your custody until his trial, no doubt he might fall off the side of the ship on the way home if I left our own to guard him."

Peyton laughed. "Yes somehow my own men manage to restrain themselves, I'm not quiet sure how. I thank you for your visit Captain, and I look forward to many future peaceful meetings between our people."

Theon nods and rises, "as do I. We thank you for your assistance in this matter, Lord Redwyne. I look forward to seeing you in the king's city, once our enemies have been smashed and scattered."
