Jack went immediately out into the village to seek out a few strong men who would aid him in building their folks better homes to live in. Dan the fisherman offered his help, as did Jack's son, also named Dan. The three men were appraising the shacks when Jack saw Brendan strolling down the muddy road towards him, and called him over. After chatting for a few minutes, Jack noticed two dark red points on Brendan's neck. "What happened there, some wench get a little rough?" Jack asked teasingly. "Aye, but not the way you think, friend. I was pokin fun at old Grandmother, sayin she didn't have any teeth and whatnot, and so she bit me, to prove it she says," Brendan replied, sending laughter through all who were listening. Brendan took his leave and went to see Wat.

Brendan appeared at Wat's residence in a traveling cloak. He wore riding boots that were assumably stolen off an enemy as well.

Wat nodded and smiled. "Yes I did. Cousin I need someone to be the Keeper of Overton. I trust that you will serve the people well. There will also be a village leader that is chosen by the villagers that will be a councilor of sorts, to protect the villagers interests. I have confidense in you cousin, we planned this together after all".

Brendan nodded, "Brendan the Cobbler becomes Brendan the Keeper. I would be honored to have that position, Wat."

Wat grins and embraces Brendan. "The people of Overton will be safe in your hands, cousin. We'll surely make bloody Stoney Shore a better place for all".

"I have sent a letter to him detailing the rebelious plans of Stout, Overton, Slate and Moss. Apparantly bloody Lord Moss had received and sent letters to the other lords of Stoney Shore. That should serve as proof. Fortunatly the valiant highfolk of Stoney Shore refused the lords and loyally fought for Lord Stark," Wat said.

A young man, tall and broad, had stood waiting politely in the corner of the room until Wat's cousin had departed. Pushing his coal black hair out of his blue eyes, Pate strode confidently over to Wat's chair and offered his hand. "Pate Goldgrass," he said, introducing himself using his newly acquired last name. He had decided the name was fitting after many men in his small village had shouted for him to become the Keeper of the fort and town. He now eyed Wat curiously. He had met the man a few times before, as he was from the neighboring village. He had fought with Wat in the recent battles, had seen him crush a man's throat with his staff. Pate liked him.

"Good day, Pate. I see so the people of Goldgrass chose you. A good choice. Did you know that I served along with your father in the war? A good man. It was a shame that he died in that bloody war. A shame indeed. I'm sure you know what your duties will consist of?" Wat said.
