"Hmmm... perhaps a little too feisty for my liking," Steffen mused to Ser Addam with a grin.
He turned to Lysa. "Do forgive me, Lady Lysa, but I am a man of practicality, not a man of romance. I do apologise if my frank talk with your father has offended you. To be straight with you, as your husband I could offer you wealth and security for the rest of your life, however you could not expect my personal interest. I thought perhaps this might suit you - being a widow, and possibly someone who has already found the love of their life, finding yourself now confined to the bridal scrapheap." He raised a hand to halt any protest and continued regardless.
"I have great means Lady Lysa, to which you would be entitled your fair share, however, I would expect a son in return." He smiled a smile which may have been charming in his youth, however now it looked more than a trifle creepy.

Lady Lysa looked from the disgusting man to her father, with desperation.

Ser Addam sat impassively. The girl did not have much of a choice here, if Ser Steffen wanted to marry her it would be so.

Steffen saw the lady look to her father, who gave no response.
A moment or two passed in silence before Steffen spoke again.
"So what is it to be, Lady Lysa?" he asked in a tone as sweet as a lemon.

"If it is up to me, than the answer is no." She said resolutely.

"A pity," Steffen said dismissively, not at all taken aback by the woman's refusal.
"A folly of youth I suppose. Ser Addam, what is your opinion?"

"If you desire to marry, it shall be so." He gave his daughter an irritated look, though pity apparent on his face as well. "It is not 'up to you', Lysa," he said to her.

Steffen grinned. "Excellent. I'm glad we could come to this agreement Ser." He looked at the young woman with a lecherous smile and hungry eyes.
His smile softened a little. "Of course, I have other options available, and understandably I want to 'browse the market', so I'm afraid I cannot offer a definate marriage to your Lysa here and now, however in my eyes, she is definately a strong candidate." He gave her a wink.
"Is this acceptable to you Ser Addam?"

Ser Addam frowned very slightly, but knew there was only one answer to give. "It is, Ser, I wish you luck in your search."

"I thank you. Now, would it be too much to ask for a glass of wine and a bit of something to eat?"

"Not at all, Ser, forgive me." A few minutes later several servants arrived with plates of venison and a large flagon of wine.

The two men share bread, chatting pleasantly of current issues both in Westeros and abroad. Little mention is made of Lysa on Steffen's part. After a few more pleasantries are exchanged, Steffen makes to leave.

////////////////////////////// A letter arrives by raven, addressed to Lord Duncan Farman.
It carries a crimson seal, stamped with the roaring lion of the Lannisters, standing proud besides a small letter 'W' underlined with a squiggle.

The letter is forwarded to King's Landing, where Lord Duncan is currently in residence, and a response is soon sent from the capital to Casterly Rock.
