A meeting is set between the Master of Whisperers and the Iron born Lord. Lord Coldiron is politely, but throughly searched and disarmed prior to the meeting, although the two knights at the door are very apologetic about the the need for such an act, blaming Braavos' Faceless Men.

Erik is obviously a bit put off by the disarming - he feels naked without something lethal on his person. But he goes through with it willingly enough, if not cheerfully. He gives a short bow to Varner once admitted to his chambers.
"Lord Whisperer. Pleasure to see you."

"Lord Coldiron, I apologize again for the security. I submit that it is as rude and unchivalrous as it is necessary. If you'll further submit to my paranoia, and tell me the place where we first met negotiating the situation with the shields."
(Ooc: Presuming Erik answers correctly since he is in fact Erik.)
"Very well. I have asked you to come here to again play the role of intermediary between myself and Lord Harlaw. Given his statements I have reason to believe that Lord Harlaw was... less than impressed with the peace terms we have agreed to with Braavos. As subject to one of the conditions, namely that I be placed on trial for certain activities conducted on behalf of this Kingdom, I am... equally displeased. Does my analysis of your Lord's position seem accurate to you?"

"Sounds about fair. But the next time I see Harlaw outright pleased about something would likely be the first."

"Fair enough. Needless to say I do not intend to stand by if I am sold to the Braavosi like a ham-hock. While the Lord Hand has assured me that he has some card up his sleeve, if things go against me, I'd like to know that I have some support from those lords sensible enough to know that you can not purchase peace from Braavosi dogs. Erik nods, thinking the matter over.
"Of course. But I'll be needing to know just what you would expect of me and of Harlaw, and of course just what's in this for me."

"You mean it doesn't motivate you to see justice done?" Francis snickered. "Right now nothing is required of you but to be prepared for the worst. But if I were to require your aid, it would mean the situation was war. You've already learned from Sunspear that I'm not one to put undo restrictions during conflict, the way King Callen used to do. I pray that the situation will not come to that, but if it does, well... the Riverlands is much closer to your home than Dorne."

The Ironman more bares his teeth than smiles to that.
"A fine point. That Frey did seem like a right ass, but a rich ass nonetheless. Well, I will pass the message on to Felryn, unless you had some other business."

"That is all Lord Coldiron, I thank you for coming to see me."

"Any time, Varner. Best of luck with that not getting killed."
