"We have a friend inside the city. The Prince Edrick Baratheon. We have 15,000 men massed in the Riverlands, and more here in the Vale. The Prince says he can open the gates for us. The Riverland force will strike from the King's Road, and the Vale navy can strike from Blackwater Bay. Swiftly, at night. Word will be passed to my men on the inside -- they will cause additional chaos as we attack. Andry has yet to call any bannermen other than his own. If we can defeat his army and capture or kill him, this rebellion will be over before it has a chance to start."

Piers laughs, "I would say capturing King's Landing would qualify as a start. And I would watch the seas if I were you. You are the one who told me he has Braavos aid.

"That is true, but they have yet to launch their ships. I have too many men in Braavos not to know if one of their fleets has left."
OOC: I'm assuming that's true, or at the very least there would need to be some sort of troop movement for a big fleet of Braavosi ships.
"If there truly are sharks in the water, the Vale force can simply attack on land from a different gate."

Horas you underestimate our enemy. A fleet can be watch, but the sailing of ten ships a week to a hundred different ports, that you you do not watch. And when they do not reach their destination that is so."
ooc: You have good eyes in Braavos, but since any message from your men there needs to sail it would actually arrive after a fleet had arrived at your shores.

OOC: Alright, fair enough. But surely I would know if there is a fleet harbored in King's Landing at least?
Horas nods. "As you say, Piers. Rhodri's forces will have to march by land."

Horas speaks with Piers again, some time later. "It appears Prince Edrick is dead. No doubt there is still resistance within the city, but we will likely have to do this the hard way. Do you think we have enough men to take King's Landing in a siege?"

"Not with Dorne againt us." Piers looks at Horas, "Should I resign? Could you work with Andry?"

"Do not be foolish," Horas says, "Andry does not have any more men than we do. He cannot assault our position any more than we can his. The Prince may have King's Landing, but we have the King. Andry has not won this -- the fighting has not even begun."

Piers looks at Horas a long time, "Are you sure? I am gettin old Blue-lipped Crow. And if you were to bring this offer to Andry as a deal you could remain hand." After a tired laugh Piers continues, "This ia a rare moment of Self-doubt from the son of a knight whose land was no longer then three plow horses in a line."

"Oh and can you break the news to Cedric. I see to much of his father in him, and it hurts me not to grant his request." Piersa asks.

"Doubt is good, Piers. Doubt keeps us alive."
Horas is quiet for a moment, and when he speaks again, it seems he is not addressing Piers so much as musing aloud. "We are not men of war, my Lord Bettley. We are plotters. Wheels within wheels. Feints concealed by feints. But Andry... he is a warrior. He wants this war -- he can win it. So why should we play into his hand? Why should we give him what he wants?"
Horas considers. "Your plan may have merit, Piers. Though not as an end goal -- merely as another way to fight. You have died, what, twice now? What do you think of a third time?"

Piers laughs, "As long as I don't die, I am ready to die again."

"I think I need something to placate Andry and the Braavosi. Prove my loyalty, as it is. Banners can always be raised again for another King, but after I murder the King Regent... there is no going back, is there?" A small smile sneaks onto Horas' face. Unlike most of his smiles, it almost appears as though it is genuine. "I have a potion that can put you within an inch of death. Only a maester would be able to tell the difference between this sleep and a true corpse. After your burial, you would have to go into hiding... and then we wait for the opportune moment."

Piers nods. "I wish to tell my wife but no one else. I can work better from the shadows now. Deep in the shadows."
