Horas Blackwood meets Piers Bettley in the Map Room. Horas places a piece of parchment on the table.
"Have you seen this yet?" He asks. The letter details Andry's capture of the city and declaration of Rodrick as the new King.
"This is a decidedly poor time to be trapped in a blizzard in the Eyrie," Horas says cooly.

Piers smiles and nods, "To be Honest I can think of only one place that would be worse for us." Piers looks at the note in Horas' hand. "Of course I am now sure you did not try and kill me." Piers offers concilatory smile.

"Your show of confidence means... so very much to me, Lord Bettley," Horas says tonelessly. "Perhaps we should discuss what should be done. I still have my watchers in the walls. And several knives as well. Though Andry may be wary after what happened to you."

"Not to mention because Varner assassinated his Girlfriend. You could have picked a more restrained man for Master of Whispers. All in all, not the best decision you ever made." Piers raises his eyebrows implying that every one makes errors. "Well I am only worried if Anya has gone over to Andry. Otherwise there is no evidence."

"I do not regret Francis," Horas says, "He retrieved some very valuable information -- and likely was killed for it. The Sealord of Braavos is collaborating with Andry in this rebellion. This Cult of the Dead God as well."
"Who will turn against us if this comes to war? The Stormlands, one must assume. I do not hold much hope for the Mander or the North, either."

"No... and if Andry has Emelia, the best we can hope for is Dorne to stay out. If Dorne is in the war we can hope for the Far Reach as an ally, if Dorne is silent they will not move for fear of a rear attack." Piers touched his beard, "My mistake has effectively cut the West off from us. And who ever we pick for the west, we should lock up the losers. Otherwise they could go over to the enemy."

"If Emelia escapes, I think we should be able to count on her. She is not a woman who takes attempted kidnappings kindly. Then we could have the Far Reach, the Riverlands, the Vale," Horas tallies off kingdoms on his fingers. "Who we place in charge of the West will be very important. My negotiator tells me choosing Benedicta will net us Emelia for sure, but I do not think it is truly wise to put her in charge of the West."

"If Emelia has been kidnapped she will want revenge, but I would assume Sergyo would know that. The Crownlands will freeze like a deer, and that leaves the Vale and the Riverlands." Piers frowns, "Curse Callen. I knew attacking the Sea Lord was a fool idea."

Horas smiles grimly. "Then we must be twice fools. This Sealord has a grudge against us that will not cease -- we need to cut his reign short, or at least convince him that he has more pressing troubles in Braavos."
"Meanwhile I will see what I can do in King's Landing. If Andry means to stay there, I will make sure it is as unpleasant an experience as possible."

"I do not think that wise. Especially since I would be the target of retribuation. Much like Callen was." Piers nods though, "Troubles in Braavos must be arranged though. And burn King's Landing to the ground."

"Troubles are being arranged in Braavos already," Horas says. He looks at Piers for a moment. "Is burning King's Landing a command, my lord?"
He asks for clarification. Nothing in his demeanor suggests he would hesitate to turn the largest city in Westeros into a pyre.

"Not a command, but something along that line is what we both think is necessary." Piers raised an eyebrow, "Stop playing these games when we are alone and say what you think."

Horas looks at Piers with a cool gaze. "Very well."
"The entire city could burn. It is feasable given our resources. But while it would burn Andry's forces to ash it would wipe out our seat of power and alienate too many potential allies. That is not to say the substance," Horas uses the alchemist's word for wildfire, "could not be put to good use. I have spoken with the alchemists -- they tell me a controlled fire is possible. Perhaps only the Regent's tower. If Andry was asleep in his tower, his chances of escaping the blaze would be minimal, and we would send a clear message. What is your opinion of that plan?"

"You might as well try. But we have clearly lost the only advantage we thought we had." Piers replies, "Andry must know the tunnels, since he sent assassins through them. You will never get what you need into the Red Keep."

"You are certain that was Andry?" Horas asks, "I remain uncertain. Tell me, how well do you trust Nehmen?"
