Marten invites the Ladies to the private conversation, dignified but serious.
"I am happy to see you here safe, after recent mess." -Marten starts.

Sara comes alone, leaving her young daughter alone in her room. "What do you wish Marten?"

"I supported you against Randal in the past. I advised you to come with Jeyne to the West, years ago, and it helped her position as the heir to the Rock." -He says calmly.
"Randal wanted to usurp power from her, and I am afraid that now Cedric wants the same, despite the hope I had of him."- He sighs.

Sara raises an eyebrow, "So then are you planning on throwing Cedric out a tower window?"

Marten shakes his head.
"If he will try to kill me or my family, as it was case with Randal, then yes. I am sickened by the treachery and plots in our House, Sara, I want justice, I am not obsessed by desire for power as others are. But I cannot do what is necessary if me and and my close family will be persecuted for what happened with Randal."- He clenches his fists.
"If you support me, I swear in name of my death love that I will let you and your daughter choose husband for Jeyne freely." -He says firmly, looking at her honestly.

Sara raised an eyebrow, "So you wish to be Regent of the West then Marten? Do you have any other cookie to offer me for my support?"

"Well, I don`t have to be the Regent myself. There are other possible candidates, including my father who happens to be Lord Regent`s friend. And Benedicta Lannister seems to be much more reasonable person than her brother....she is willing to support someone with better chances, who will let her assume a rightful place in the West." -He grins.
"Of course, one could say that if Benedicta could even be considered a candidate, so could you, Sara. Did you think about it?"

Sara looks at Marten for a moment then replies, "We are both female, but I was born a Royce and she a Lannister so I believe that gives her the smallest of chances, while I am still out of luck."
"But I do want to support some one I can trust. Who seeks my advice, and asks my counsel." She looks at him questioningly.

"Well, I came here because your opinion is of value, obviously. I am not good at politics. I made a mistake to trust Randal, and it ended with death of my wife. Someone of his kind cannot become a Regent again."

"Trying to find a Lannister that does not scheme is like trying to find a lion that won't eat you. The search itself holds too much danger to be worth trying." Sara snickers.

"You have a point, and I had to start playing the game as well. But one cannot become lost in this game, so that he loses the sight of what is trully important."- He smiles a bit sadly.

"And what is truly important, Lord Lion?"

"Loyalty, particularly to your Kin. Honour. And revenge, if necessary."

Marten speaks to Sara again after speaking with Piers.
"It seems that neither me or my father can be Regents in these circumstances. But Lord Piers and I agree that your opinion should be taken into account."- He adds.

Sara smiles and nods, "Thank you Marten for the thought. What else did Piers have to say?"
