Horas shakes his head in precisely the same fashion as a maester disciplining a young pupil, but can't suppress a smile nonetheless. "Pretty enough," he says finally, "She's no Emelia of Dorne, but compared to looking at Manderly or Varner all day I'd daresay she's a vast improvement."

Piers smiles darkly, "That is acceptable. Is there anything else we should discuss?"

"Then it is done," Horas says, "I will send the raven. As to other affairs... Something must still be done about the Boltons, though that may need to be put on hold until our situation in the West clears up. I summoned the Lord of the Dreadfort to King's Landing to swear fealty to the King some time ago. He has yet to respond, though whether he is being treacherous or merely defiant I can not say."

"The Boltons have a representative in this very keep. He came to help defend me from your hoards of barbarious Rivermen." Piers smiles and winks.

"Really?" Horas asks, "A man important enough to tell us anything interesting under the knife?"

Piers laughed, "You are going to have to discover that on your own. I think not, but you never know what kind of secrets you can cut out of a man." Piers paused a moment, "Let him get a good distance out side of the Keep before you seize him. Rhodri's guest rite should not be broken."

"Of course," Horas nods. He glances upwards out of one of the high windows -- the sky is dark. "I believe I shall be taking my leave to my room now, Lord Bettley," Horas says, rising to his feet. "The journey up was arduous, and no doubt there will be another host of difficulties to deal with on the morrow."

------
The next day, Horas seeks out Piers again. He seats himself across from the other man and gets to the point without preamble.
"It occurs to me that there was one appointment we failed to discuss last night. We will need a new Master of Ships with Andry... retired. I am considering Edrick Baratheon, Erryk Mallister, or Emmon Barclay, at the moment. All undoubtably know their way around a ship, but each has disadvantages as well. We could also appoint a loyal incompetent, but I would prefer to avoid that."

Piers nods, and smiles, "Why don't we cut with the Farce and just make Warren Lord of Ships, and cease the ridiculousness of the Lord of Colonies position. Then you get your two seats, and I get rid of a useless position." He raises an eyebrow in question.

"An elegant solution," Horas says, "I have no problems with it."

Piers nods and then says, "Good. Anything else my fine blue lipped friend?"
