Kasmir just glares. "We should be doing something more worthwhile than scooping up crabs and eating them and pretending to be a bunch of troublemakers." He looked at the other boys. "We should be making territory and making sure people don't cross into our land."

Gabriel says nothing and does his best to stand still and not get involved.

Neal looked at Kasmir. "This is our territory, this is where we need to defend. The streets already have people on them. Here is where we can get what we need to survive and more. Everybody gotta come to the River some time, and when they do, we gonna make them pay. For now we get what we can. Later we rule from the water."
He pulled a few more crabs out of the mud. When the first crabs were ready, he handed out the steaming treats. He then washed popped a few more in the boiling water.
"The River is where we eat. Everything else follows from there," he said.

Gabriel spotted a rival group of young Myr boys heading towards their "territory" and informed his friends.

Neal stood ready and glanced at the muddy branches that stood near by. Boys went to pick them up and handed him a stout muddy tree limb.
"This is our territory," he said in a menacing tone.

Kasmir didn't pay attention to the other boys approaching, he went to searching for a sharp rock to crack open the crabs' shells.

Gabriel finds a rusted blade on the shore of the muddy water. It looks disgusting to touch, so he passes it by.
In his peripheral vision he saw Kasmir searching amongst rocks.

Kasmir found a nice looking point on one of the rocks, and went to chipping open his crab's armor. It was satisfying to cleave the cleft in twain.

Gabriel saw that the other boys drew even closer. He ran close to Kasmir and knelt beside him "Are we in for a fight, you think?", he whispered.

Kasmir regarded him for a moment, then looked to the approaching boys.
"If they want to leave, we let them. If they don't..." He smiled. "Well, eventually they will want to."

Gabriel didn't smile when Kasmir did, but helped him chip crab armor.

"It'll make you seem more menacing..." Kasmir whispered, "If you don't show them that you care they are here. It shows you are confident, that they mean nothing to you. Of course..." Kasmir threw his head in their direction. "Sometimes, it makes them mad. But it's a valuable trait to have."
He continued his faux-carelessness and finally got a piece to come out of the crab's shell.
"You want a piece as a sort of vent. The heat enters, and allows the insides to be cooked, and bakes the shell. That way, you can break the rest of the shell off when you wanna eat."

Kasmir, as crazy as he was, could on occasion be right. Neal flung a final glance at the boys, and sat done to eat crabs.
The other boys huddled together, looking confused. Suddenly, one broke from the pack, screaming, and the others followed, running towards the little group cooking crabs. Neal leaped up and smashed the largest of them with his muddy bough.

Kasmir's laugh was as triumphant as it was eerie, as everyone else had fallen silent. He dropped the rock onto the downed boy's body and dusted off his hands.
"There is their reason for leaving." He smiled, picking up his blazing crab. "Mmm." He announced hungrily, before popping apart the crab's shell.
