Ser Bronn swore heavily as realised his pouch full of coins had been stolen, when he saw a young boy running away, stags and coppers in his hand he tried chasing after him, but tired quickly. He decided that chasing after the boy was second to getting to the forum that contained the government of Volantis.
When he entered he bowed before the assembled government officials. "Ser Bronn of Clearwater, representative of Callen Baratheon, King of Westeros."

A bored clerk looks up and doesn't bother to hide his distaste at Bronn's appearance. He straightens up and says "Well, Lord Dakken is a busy man. Perhaps you could come back in a week or so?" he says pompously

"I come here to give a message to the Most Serene City of Volantis." Ser Bronn said, hoping he had gotten the title for the city right. "Callen wishes to extend the hand of friendship to Volantis. In the recent event in which Volantis seized several captains and their crews, who were accused of piracy. Callen would like to extend his agreement with said action. And that the city of Volantis deal with such pirates with the utmost sense of justice."

The clerk looked at Bronn again. "As I said, Dakken is very busy at the moment". After a few seconds, he sighs and looks pointedly at an empty cup on his desk.

Bronn looked at the cup for a moment, and then realized what the clerk wanted. He reached for his pouch and then realized it was gone. He grumbled to himself, trying to find something that was of worth on him. He then found took out his dagger and sadly popped out the small ruby incased in the pommel and dropped it in the cup. "You owe me Callen..." The grumpy old knight muttered.

The clerk smiled and said "Dakken will see you tomorrow morning in his audience chamber" he stopped, looking at the dishevelled knight. "It might be wise to come more suited to meet with the High Lord of Volantis" he suggested scornfully.

Ser Bronn tried to adjust the clothes on his body, he had bought them at a local market the day before. He anxiously waited to be admitted to Dakken's chambers.

Another clerk, a large fat man arrived to take Bronn to see Dakken. Bronn entered through the doors of the main throne room to see a slender, dark haired man with a small pointed beard discussing something in his own tongue with a white-haired gentleman to his right. They carried on for a few minutes in their tongue while Bronn waited. Eventually he said something to the clerk, who translated "Dakken would know what you want?"

"I don't know. I merely come to inform him of Callen Baratheon's wish for peace, and his policy on piracy."

After a brief burst of unintelligable speech, Dakken responds in kind with a slight smile. The obese clerk turns to Bronn and says "Peace with Westerosi? I was not aware we were at war? And as for pirates, as long as they work for me I have no problems, yes?"

Bronn shifted uncomfortably. "What I meant to say was that we wish for continued peace. And as a gesture of goodwill Callen has constructed special docks in the harbour of King's Landing to accomadate your ships."

The clerk translated more gibberish and Dakken, weary of the charade, cut him off. He spoke in accented Common Tongue but Bronn could understand him. "Lesten, Callen-man. I do not care. I am not a merchant. My traders pay me taxes and I do not ask where it comes from. I do not care for goodwill or bad. Your lands are far from here and I have my own concerns"

Bronn just stood there. "Um...best wishes. I mean Callen sends you his best wishes..." He then bowed and abruptly left. "Well at least it was short..." Bronn said to himself.

Dakken shook his head in weary puzzlement and motioned for Bronn to leave. He turned back to the white-haired gentleman and resorted to his odd tongue again
