"Ahh, so you think? Then I shall start to work on it. How fast can you muster half the numbers I mentioned...3,000 foot and 1,000 horse? I believe I can buy the loyalty of the Gold Cloaks, but either way the Songlord and Ser Kit Kidwell have mustered around 2,000 men each, which is impressive given that it was done fairly discretely and they are bannermen of House Baratheon."

"Also, I have started to discuss this with Ser Zachary Lannister, but he seems hesitant. I would appreciate your support in helping to persuade him."

'Again, may I be open about our plans with my brother, Ser Breyn Royce? I shall need his goodwill should I try and call Royce banners."

You wished to speak with me brother?

"Aye. And this must be spoken of with the greatest of secrecy."
"We speak of rebellion. In the name of Hand, and his legacy as a child of Blood and Fire."

The Redspear tells Ser Breyn of his conversation with the Hand, summarizing what is needed and why.

(This is assuming that Dondarrion is not in the room when I speak with my brother)
"Brother" says Ser Breyn, "what have you gotten yourself into? The main houses will never support a Dondarrion as King. Some may have fondness for the blood of Valyrian, but not enough to support a usurper. If we allign ourselves with Dondarrion, we will be brushed aside by the might of Highgarden and Winterfell. And do not think that Casterly Rock will come our aid unless it is clear that we will be the victors."
"I understand you are in an awkward position as Donadarrion's Captain and as a husband to a Dondarrion, but act in your own best interests and the interests of our house. If we go to the king with news of Dondarrion's treachery, he will be grateful. Perhaps name our father as Hand in Dondarrion's place, and name you as a member of the Kingsguard. All that Dondarrion has said is without proof and I see no reason to believe him. We must act quickly before the other houses get wind of this."

"If we inform the King of this, the Hand will have no trouble refuting it -- it is we who would hang that day. His name may be Dondarrion, but his mother was Targaryen. And he has been Hand for years enough to consolidate his power."

As an OOC note it is not just the Hand who stands alone, he stands with most of the Stormlands and part of the Reach whom he has all privately spoken with. Hopefully that may clear up things.

"He claims he has power but there is no proof. It seems fairly obvious that Dondarrion is not to be trusted. I wouldn't doubt that it was he who aranged the slaughter of the Small Council, men who were loyal to the King. I doubt he has consolidated enough power to take on a King of the Baratheon line. We must oppose him, or very soon there will be a wooden sign in Runestone hanging next to a tree where our bodies swing reading "thus end all traitors".

OOC: If House Royce joined with Dondarrion, what perentage of the Kingdom's houses and armies would Dondarrion have?

OOC: 60-70% of the Stormlands, probably 20% of the Reach and most of the Crownlands (ie: Rosby, etc etc) That's excluding Tully and Martell. Also Lannister are likely supporters of the Hand as well. What Dondarrion says -is- true though. He is the power behind the throne :-P

"We have bulk of Stormland swords, and Crownlands committed. Add Lannister and Royce and he will have the strength. The only house certain to oppose the Hand is Tyrell, due to the wedding of Bethany Tyrell, and even that will backfire for the King as more houses feel left out. A strategic wedding to the North now may secure their aid as well. And the Martells are already close to the Lannisters."
