A great room, though half the size of the Hand's chamber is allotted to the Royce knight, Ser Rhodri Royce in his taking of the Captain of Guard mantle.

Rhodri makes himself comfortable.

A tapping comes on the door and the voice of one of Rhodri's own guard calls out, "Lord Michael Dondarrion, Hand to the King".

Rhodri rises to attention, "Yes mi'lord!"

The Hand smiles and requests the leave of the guard at the door. As he enters he nods and smiles at Ser Rhodri Royce. "May we be seated? I have a matter I wished to discuss with you."

"Please, by all means. I am at your command."

Lord Dondarrion smiled and motioned towards a set of chairs for them to sit. "Shall we discuss here? First I must say this is a matter that I am relaying to you as a man of my own House. It would make me very upset if you were to tell others of what we discuss."

"I understand, and only hope to prove my faithfulness to your house. Please, tell me of your concern, and what I should do to resolve it."

"As you have just come to King's Landing recently I will inform you of the most pressing concerns in this city. The biggest news to most people is that I am the power behind the throne. Rodrick does little but sit on his own ass and look at random papers he finds from the libraries here. Lately Rodrick has started to become indescribably strange...and I was reminded of something. I was reminded of the power and command of the Valyrian...Targaryen dynasty. Those two things being something the Baratheon kings have surely lacked. It would be no shame to see the Valyrian kings restored to power. By fire and blood."

"This is stunning, mi'lord. Is there a Targaryen prince worthy of restoration?"

"To reforge a dynasty one must connect all the ends of it. I have Valyrian blood in me, as does my wife. My mother was a Targaryen which makes me a claimant to the throne. The Valyrian dynasty will be restored through me. I am being perfectly honest with you Rhodri, I want you to stand by me during this."

"I see. I am your man; I am committed. What steps can I take in your service?"

"I want the support of House Royce behind me. I promise to reward you and your family greatly. Perhaps with new lands and titles. I could even see your lord and father as my Hand.
I want House Royce to raise 5,000 foot and 2,000 horse, and I want you to lead that army. That army would meet one of mine that the legendary "Songlord", Lord Sylas Caron is leading. Ser Kit Kidwell, equally legendary will also join for this. You will be in good company, no doubt. I see the Lannisters as likely to side with the King and therefore they should be viewed as enemies. King's Landing would be taken first."

"Perhaps we can change the loyalty of the Lannisters with an appropriate match. I would start by ensuring that the Second Prince not be allowed to wed the Lannister daughter -- come up with some sort of reason -- and then offer your second sister to the Lannister heir.
The Lannisters fear the Stark-Tyrell alliance, and with Bethany to wed Prince Callen, those houses will support the King. That is why the Lions can be bent to our purpose, as long as assurances are in place that their men will stay on the Small Council."

My father is the lord, but old and fonder of the hunt than battle; my brother has taken on most leadership duties. May I speak openly on this with my brother?"
