One night Rhodri returns to his solar to find Grand Maester Nehmen sitting pleasantly with a tea set spread out one a table, and two comfortable chairs surronding it. Nehmen asks, "Tea?"

"Uh, ah, yes, please..." Rhodri says, glancing left and right. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your company, Grand Maester?"

"I have some things to tell the ruler of the land," He pours tea out the kettle, filling two glasses. He leaves them side by side in the middle of the table and gestures for Rhodri to take one, "But I can not stand Callen Baratheon, so I am going to tell you."

"Ah, well. One does not have to like a King, merely bow to him. But I'll be happy to hear what you have to tell, and do with it what I can."

Nodding Nehmen smiles at the tea, "It is not poisoned Lord Rhodri. I do not have to resort to such unsubtle ways to kill you."
"As for what I have to tell the king, First he must, must find the Targaryen Dragon eggs. Horas and I have been trying to locate them, but I believe the trail lead through Kit Kidwell and he disapeared before I could talk to him."
"Second the King must realize that the Targaryens are being slaughtered for a reason. First Steffen Lannister's wife and children. Next Kidwell's whole family. There was an attack on the ones Horas is hiding in Braavos. This is evidence the king must protect the Targaryen line."

Rhodri leans forward in his chair. "Targaryens being slaughtered...even those in whom the blood is weaker? Two generations away, are they in danger too?"

"It is possible, I do not know for sure. The blood is inconsistant. Some distant relatives have the gift while a few born to Targaryen father and mother are born with out. If you are worried about your children I can test them to see if they have the blood of the dragon in their veins."

"My son...is being fostered, and far from King's Landing. But perhaps you should test my daughter. The assassins -- would they know the difference, or are they threat to all Targaryen kin?" Rhodri says. "As for the eggs, Kidwell must have taken them to Dragonstone. Has anyone been sent to search it?"

"Yes I had men there already and the searched the keep. No eggs." Nehmen paused, "I am sure your son does not carry the blood, or the Greenseers would never have allowed him entrance. I will test your daughter, later."
"I do not think the source of the danger is aware that distant blood can carry its power, but I would still be careful. I will help as I can, but still be wary. And for the one not yet born."

"How much do you know about my son? So we are at least on even terms, Maester."

"Your son on the island or in the womb?" Nehmen seems to think, "It is rare when some one is born that close to the Old Gods these day Lord Hand. And not necessarily a bad thing."

"Is it a son in the womb? Do you know that? And I meant the boy Yohn. It seems you have done some looking into him. He is touched...it seems."

"Yes, I know that. I also know the Queen will give birth to twin boys two days after you son screams his first breath." Shaking he head Nehmen looks weary, "Yohn is touched, are you and your wife prepared for that? It is a harder road for the parents then the boy. The boy does not know better, yet you have to suffer worry pangs and dread."

"We have our fears. But I can steady my nerves come what may -- I would have died of fright many years ago if I could not. It has taken a toll on my wife, who has raised him without me while I was in the saddle these last couple years."
"Measures will have to be taken to protect Saella from these assassins, and her younger brother, but the real question is, who are they? And why do they target the dragon-blood?"

"They are members of a cult that worships a dead god. They are trying to prevent a dragon from ever rising again." Nehmen shrugs, "As to why they want that I am not sure."
