Aerie laughed quietly, regarding him in mock reproach. "But I thought you had wanted a woman who was kind and sweet and understanding? Ah, now I recall your little change of heart." Her smile became something more of a smirk. "I'm sure you'll contrive a way to keep her interested." She winked.

Aerie was having a hard time containing the amusement she felt. It almost sounded as if Jon Royce had just realized this. Surely that could not be. "At least you recognize your...weakness. Perhaps you should make it your goal to think a thing through and absorb all the baggage that comes with it before becoming infatuated."

"Hmm. Terrible business." Seth finished strining the bow and gave it an experimental pull. The catch was still hard and tight, allowing him to be the only on privy to it's secret.

Jon chuckles at that, but before he can respond, a piercing, inhuman shriek rings out from above. Rhodri's voice comes barking through the column. "There are bandits ahead! Form up!"

Aerie heart pounded excitedly. They were looking for one man, but she was searching for entirely another. This could be it. She fell into place neatly, Anarchy snorting his own nervousness.

Roland pulled his horse into formation and drew his sword. As he did so, he transisted control of his horse from his hands to his knees.

Aerie flicked her sword lazily under the man's chin, the razor edge pressing tenderly against his throat, as Aranya held him down.

Rhodri rides up to wear Aranya and Aerie hold the bandit captain. Roland is pulling his helm to reveal a broke nose.
"Make him talk," Rhodri says, simply. "Make him tell us about knight with a small retinue, with a remarkable sword."
