Rhae inspected the equipment with mock seriousness. "I know all about the quivers, less about the arrows. But please, continue."

"I did not realise you were such a fan of quivers, my lady, we have that in common, though," he said with a grin.
"Now, hold the bow like this," he said showing her how to do it with his own, "then take an arrow, hold it inbetween two fingers, place the knock on the string, pull back and... release," he said as the arrow flew from his bow.
"Simple enough, isn't it?"

Rhae watched him with great interest, and then picked up a second bow and fumbled as she tried to notch the arrow. Once it was in, she raised it, pulled, and released, though not to full strength at all, and the arrow dived pathetically to land in the ground with a thud.
"Oh dear," Rhae said. "I'll never shoot it properly."

Marq laughed, and moved over to her. He stood behind her and with his own hands he guided hers, placing them in the proper positions. He allowed himself close up against her, the smell of her was sweet and comforting.

Rhae blushed a little when his arms went around her, as he showed her how to hold the blow. His hands were warm on hers, and larger, and she could feel him press up against her back. "How far back do I draw?" she whispered.

Marq's hand was wrapped around Rhae's one which held the string, and he pulled it back until it was taut enough. "That's good," he said softly, but in truth it was the elegant curve of her neck that he was concentrating on.

"And I want to hit that branch of the juniper," she whispered, moving to aim at the slender green juniper tree over the wall, with its whitish blooms on its branches.

"Yes," he replied simply and softly, so close to her ear he could have kissed it. He moved her hands to aim where she wanted to.
"Hold tight, now," he said as he released hold of her hand, leaving her to keep he bow straight and the string pulled.
"Release," he said finally, "let go."

Rhae released, and there was a hiss as the arrow slid free, shooting out straight and fast. It disappeared into the air and hit home hard on the slim branch of the juniper, shaking leaves free. The bowstring was still thrumming.
"Look at that," Rhae said, eyes wide.

"Well done," Marq said, not looking up at the target. "Want to try again?"

She turned her face very slightly, her cheek brushing his nose. She smelled of honeysuckle and roses. "You still have more to teach me?"

Ser Jonjen Hill coughed loudly, "Rhae, I have not seen you in awhile."

OOC: Cockblock!
IC: Marq snapped out of his trance and jumped an appropriate distance away from Rhae, suddenly realising there was someone else around.

Rhae shivered in his arms...only to start back. "Ser Jonjen," she said, flustered.
OOC: Aaah, so much confusion!

Jonjen stared at Marq with a cold eye but said nothing more.
