"So Callen is King again. I could not be more surprised." He leans back in his chair, he seems relaxed and pleasant with out Aranya's presence. "Maybe Bracken won't care about his uncle's death. They were not close. Bracken is always whining about how Stone Hedge should be his Keep."

"It has gone to his cousin, a daughter whose hand in marriage is now deeply sought. I did not realize that news of Callen's ascendence had not reached this far. The dragons crushed each other, and King Callen swooped up the support of lords in the Reach, the Riverlands, the Vale, and the Stormlands. The North now as well."
"Lord Rhodri of the Vale serves as his Hand. Soon, by the old gods and new, we'll have some peace again. And order can be restored at the Wall."

Selwyn barks out laughter. "I am sure you are right. But I will do what I can, and mayhaps it will help for one winter at least. I should move on, unless you have any final words of wisdom for me."

"Wisdom is in short supply on this wall right now. Do you need any snow." A loud yawn turns into a soft buzz of snores.

"You are not such a bad man, Lord Mudd, once we get my wife out the door. You two have such chemistry. I shall depart." With that, Selwyn returns to his horse and heads west for the Shadow Tower with his men, Beaumarin singing a sad lament as they ride.
