Ollo nods gravely, his heavy cheeks wobbling as he does so.
"That is one of the reasons I wanted to see you, Naemyr Elane. I offered you protection some time ago, no? But wicked Ollo has failed to live up to his promises until now." Ollo makes a sad face. "Ser Brandshield is no doubt valiant, but he may not be enough if more assassins come crawling about. Allow me to offer you some of my men, Naemyr."

Ser Brandon listens keenly to a discussion of Mistress Elane's safety. "Who would these men be loyal to, Lord Ollo? Would they swear to Mistress Elane, or would they be your eyes and ears?"

Elane smiled at the bluntness of Brandon's question, but looked at Ollo expectantly.

Ollo narrows his eyes at Brandon. "You insult me with your tone, Ser knight. The Naemyr is a business partner, but more importantly a friend. Ollo takes care of his friends. Her safety would be my men's only priority."

"Ser Brandon is merely concerned for my safety," Elane said placatingly. "I should be thankful that I have such a protective friend in him. He did not mean to insult you, dear Ollo.
"A small number of your men would suffice, I think. This place is crawling with bravos and other, more shadowy guards. What sort of guards did you have in mind?"

"I will give you Colloquo," Ollo says, gesturing to a tall, arrow-straight Braavosi standing behind him, "And a few men. He is very, hmmm, capable, yes? He will take his own life before he lets another assassin within ten steps of you."

"This is very generous of you, Ollo." Elane smiled and nodded to Colloquo. "But this is also troubling. Do you think another attempt will be made? I have found nothing in my investigations so far, which is frustrating."

Ser Brandon quietly eyes Colloquo, trying to make what judgment he can of the man's skills from his posture.

"I cannot say for sure, Naemyr," Ollo says, "But my men have discovered for a certainty that your first assassin did not work alone. There is another, a Westerosi archer, and he may still be in the city." Ollo devours a suckling pig in a matter of bites, then politely wipes his face with a cloth napkin.
Colloquo returns Brandon's stare. His eyes are heavily lidded, which might give him the appearance of being perpetually sleepy if not for his rigidly straight pose, which he has not altered since arriving.

"You said that the first man, the Ghiscari, was one of four." Elane was now looking at Ollo intently. "And you said that these four were the best. If this archer is here, is there any way of find him? My men have been combing the city.
"Perhaps I will accept your protection, with thanks."

"One of five," Ollo corrects her, "And he is one of the best for a reason. If he does not want to be found, finding him will be difficult. Luring him out would put your person at risk. Of course, you could always hire a faceless man, but such men carry a high price..."

"I would rather not involve the Faceless Men in this," Elane said firmly. "Involve one, and you're inviting your enemies to hire them as well. No, I think that for the nonce, it would be best to simply guard against this man rather than seek him out. An archer, you say? I will have to do something about my windows."

"Mistress, we should have a litter built with hard walls instead of mere drapes. Something that can stop an arrow," Ser Brandon says.

"That's a good idea," Elane said. "Although it would be hard to carry. Perhaps an armored carriage?"

"A splendid idea," Ollo claps his hands once, beaming. "I shall make you one as a gift."
