Aranya catches up to Goldface and the two battle to the death on a mountain pass high above the vale.
Aranya Royce is a master with the sword
Goldface is an expert with the spear.

Aranya and Goldface fight in a circle of Clansmen who are hooting and cheering. The first exchange of blows seems almost in consequential. Maybe a slight victory to the woman.

After the first exchange Aranya draws on an inner reserve and rushes back in. After several attacks, she finally lands a sharp blow to his mail that causes him to stumble back in retreat.

Round 3: AR: 110 GF: 159
Goldface roars and counter attacks. Him being knocked back has given him the advantage with his spear. He tries to remain out range and after several attacks lands a hard blow on Aranya's shield arm. She winces and starts having difficulty keeping her shield up.

Round 4: AR: 105 GF: 170
Goldface steps back, blocks aside Aranya's sword, and thrusts. Aranya's shield is too slow and his blade sinks into her shoulder. She falls to the ground unable to stand with the pain. Goldface raises his spear to finish her off.
An axe smashes into the back of his head, and Chella of the Black Ears laughs as he falls dead to the ground.

I'd rather die than let Chella kill him for me. Seriously. Rematch. I had a shield and I had steel armor. That could NOT have happened. Redo that, please.
ETA: His blade went into her shoulder? But he had a spear!
ETA: Never mind, it was the rolling.

OOC: It's not fairness, it's her honor.  She's pissed that she allowed herself to be fooled by Wull and the rest at the Wall, so it was kind of a personal rage. But I'm okay with it. I forgot about the rolling. |
