Market Place Knife Fighting

The tourney had been a huge success but the crowds didn't want to go home yet. Rumors were circulating that one final event, knife fighting, was yet to come. Now that would be some good gore.

The final contest of the day was the one that all had been eagerly anticipating, the true sport of King’s Landing, knife fighting. The audience was slightly disappointed that the fighters would be wearing light chain mail and were merely required to pierce three sheep bladders of blood for the winner, but as they were stabbing through white tunics, even sheep’s blood looked impressive and slaked the crowd’s taste for gore.

Because of the uneven numbers, the faster fight to win will acheive a bye to the last round.

First Fight: Urri Hastwyck and Quickjack Rivers

Round 1: UH: 136 QR: 179

Walking out with a cocky grin, Quickjack flipped his knife around his hands. Urri held his weapon more tentatively. Quickjack stalked out and stabbed Urri's first bladder with ease. Urri leaped back as blood soaked his jerkin.

Round 2: UH:114 QR: 101

Quickjack had to back up as Urri threw caution to the wind and counter-attacked. Yet Jack was quick enough to avoid any of his bladders being punctured.

Round 3: UH:134 QR: 92

Still Urri presses the attack until he slips a blade past River's defenses slicing open one of Quickjack's bladders. Blood pours down his tunic.

Round 4: UH: 96 QR: 95

The tides seem to have turned for Urri, but Quickjack is still maintaining a good defensive stance.

Round 5: UH: 70 QR: 167

Quickjack blocks Urri's latest, blow and then locks his arm down, forcing Urri into an awkward position. Urri's bladders are exposed after Quickjack's trap is executed and Rivers cuts the last two open.

Fight Two: Anselm Flowers and Dort of King's Landing

Round 1: AF: 98 DKL: 98

The two men approach each other and duel for several moments to a stand still.

Round 2: AF: 108 DKL:56

Dort slips on some the blood spilled all over the ground, and Anselm stabs one of his bladders cleanly, and grazes another.

Round 3: AF: 131 DKL:112

Dort jumps back to regroup, but Anselm slices through another bladder as the other man retreats.

Round 4: AF: 146 DKL:124

They dance about again, Anselm even grazes Dort's last bladder twice.

Round 5: AF: 118 DKL:67

Finally Anselm chases down the other man and Dort's bladder explodes in a bloody roar.

Fight three: Piers Bettley and "Bones"

Round 1: PB: 197 B: 85

Bones grins evilly and makes cut throat gestures at Piers. Piers appears to yawn and covers his mouth with his right hand. Bones spins the knife around his hand like an expert, while Piers holds it lightly with two fingers limply at his side. When Bones begins his attack the two men move so fast, only expert warriors see their movements. When it ends Piers is standing behind Bones, and all of the Black Finger men's bladders are bleeding. Piers rubs at a spot of blood that has stained his white tunic.

Real Combat: Round 1: PB: 170 B: 96

Bones is enraged over his easy defeat and seeing Piers mocking him whilst examining his shirt, he attacks, and this time h is not going for Piers' bladder. Piers moves with out even looking at his attacker. He blocks the man's attack, and buries his own knife deep into the man's thigh.

Piers catches Bones dagger with his right hand as the other man releases it in pain. He moves to drive it into the man's throat and head, then Piers catches sight of Petra staring at him. Changing the angle he leaves a small line of blood up the other man's neck. Whispering into Bones' ear, Piers warns the man to control his anger.

Piers turns to face the audience and shrugs, "I guess I have disappointed the masses. I left the other fool alive." Shaking his head he walks from the fighting area. Soon word is passed to the officials that Piers is no longer going to compete.

Piers Bettley defeats Bones. But withdraws from the competition.

Final Fight: Quickjack Rivers and Anselm Flowers

Round 1: QR: 167 AF: 62

Quickjack Rivers moves out with the same arrogance that he showed during the first fight. Anselm was not afraid so moved to attack first. As they approached Jack flipped the knife end over end in his hand. Anselm sprung and Quickjack shifted just out of the knife's attack and stabbed into Anselm.

A mere second later Quickjack was retreating from the fight raising his hands above his head calling for a healer. All could see Anselm desperately trying to stand as he pawed at the knife sticking from his rib cage. It had pierced both a bladder and his chest, a blood bubble burst from Flowers' mouth.

Black Finger Dane laughed once.

Quickjack stabs Anselm in the chest and the match is called.
