The ironborn surrounded Riverrun and begin their assault. Dozens of ladders will be placed onto the walls and the ironborn will climb up them and engage the defenders. Lord Drumm will lead 2,500 men assaulting the main entrance & gate (although as said previously, the gate itself will not be attacked), Lord Goodbrother will lead 1,500 against another third of the castle and Lord Sparr the final 1,000 in the final third. So the walls have been divided into thirds to be attacked, Balor will sit and watch from an elevated position near Lord Drumm.
Spreading out into a camp, it takes several days to gather the supplies, and then build the ladders.

The First Wave
Throwing down ladders men hurried across the rickety contraptions trying to reach the walls. Some slipped on the snow footing, or got jostled off and fell into the moat or rivers they were crossing. They sank and drowned, cracking large holes in the moat's icy surface.
Soon the water was blood red, as arrows opened wounds and holes in the attackers. But Riverrun had been stripped of its garrison, by it's Blackwood masters. So men almost reached the other side.
Ladders were thrown up and men started hurrying up them. Yet icy grounds proved a poor footing for ladders. Two ladders slide into the moat, the men still clinging them.
Archers returned fire at the defenders, but from a distance. The defending men launched barrage after barrage into closely knit men. Oil was poured down on the Iron born. The heat from the oil caused other to men to lean toward the heat as they awaited their turn to attack.
The first wave was taking ridiculous losses, and some started pushing back across the moat, causing more men to drown.
The Second Wave Lord Greyjoy seeing his men starting to break pushed his way to a ladder. Screaming in rage, and seeing their Lord and his personal guard attacking, reinvigorated many of the Reavers.
Slowly the walls were breached. Balor himself was the first up one of the ladders. Archers ran from the walls. These were rivermen, and they had been told the horrors of a Ironborn raid all their lives. As soon as the wall was crested these men ran.
Several boats launched onto the rivers. Pyke archers pin cushioned the craft, but several men and more women were carried to safety.
Results 753 dead Iron born(This number includes wounded who will die) 1398 wounded All defenders and residents killed, Riverrun sacked.
