Like most of Harrenhal, the training yard is massive. With the army camped in and around the castle, however, the yard is for once full. While the high lords plot out strategy the lesser ones practice their swordwork for the battle ahead.

William walks into the Training Yard with Warren in meeting all day the young Squiire had nothing to do. He stopped to watch the axeman.

Torrhen wrenches his axes out of the dummy and begins throwing them anew. He notices the young boy watching him, so turns and stares back. "What?" he says.

"Are you any good fighting with those Axes in hands as you are at throwing them." William steps in and picks a Training Blade from a near by rack.

Torrhen stares at William for a moment longer, the corner of his mouth turning up into a smile. He glances at the rose sewn on to William's tunic. Then he turns back to his target and begins throwing his axes again.
"What is a Tyrell whelp like yourself doing in this army?" Torrhen asks, not answering the boy's question.

"I am Lord Warren Blackwoods squire." As William tooks off his cloak he shows the Blackwood crest. "And this Tyrell whelp is challenging you to a fight."

"I must decline, Tyrell Whelp," Torrhen says. The name is not so much an insult as a lack of anything else to call the boy. "I wouldn't want to go and break Lord Blackwood's squire."
Torrhen throws another axe at the target.

"I am the son of Tallahar Tyrell the Dawn Raider. I can tell you know I can fight and I will defeat you."
Raising his sword and entering a fighting pose William looks at the Axeman.

Torrhen does not even bother to look at William this time and continues to throw his axes. After a while he says, "I hear Timm Dayne took the fight out of your father. Is it true he's a cripple now?"

"Cripple no. My father is a giant of strength and love. I can tell you now he is as good with a sword as he has ever been."

"A giant of love," Torrhen laughs. "You make him sound so fearsome, Tyrell whelp. But I'll make sure to take your advice and kill him from a distance if we ever meet on the battlefield."

"Then you are a coward and I will no longer talk to cowards." William turns and begins to leave the Training Yard.

Torrhen laughs as the boy leaves, then resumes practicing.
