he raised his quill again. "I would be willing to remain with my forces and hold the Crossing. They would have to pass through Frey lands in order to travel on land and the geography is such that my forces can hold it indefinitely against greater numbers."

Tytos nods. "Yes, I think Lord Frey is right. 5,000 men would be enough to hold the Riverlands, and dissuade anyone from trying to attack it."

OOC: Who's (or whose NPC) got the battle skill and reputation to lead the Riverlands forces?

OOC: That would be Warren Blackwood.

OOC: Warren's an apprentice in warfare, I think.

Lord Grafton looks at Lord Frey. "Thank you for the offer, Lord Frey. However, we must consider threats both from the North and West. The Crossing, while very formidable, offers no protection against the Westermen."
Grafton then directed his gaze at Warren Blackwood. "Lord Blackwood, given our abundance of strength here, I believe we can spare 8,000 men for the defense of the Riverlands. If that is acceptable to you, I would ask that you nominate someone from your host who is qualified and capable of leading such a force."

"My best man stands to my right," Warren says, gesturing towards Tytos, "But he is a young man, and I will not deprive him of the glory of retaking King's Landing if he wishes it. My second choice would be Lord Tristane Ryger. He is a loyal and cunning man who has served me and my father before me with skill."
(OOC: Warren's battle is noteworthy right now. The Riverlands has no legendary or grandmaster generals according to the lists. But I assume we have someone master or at least expert, and I have used Tristane several times in the past at tourneys and the like.)

Without blinking or any look of surprise at the news, "So gentlemen... who wants to come up with the next great stratagem?"

Grafton nodded and looked at Tytos Blackwood. "Will you take command of the forces to defend the Riverlands, or participate in the bringing of Andry to justice?"

Tytos smiled sheepishly. "I was hoping to have served by a great general like yourself, which would mean helping to bring Andry to justice."

"As you wish. Lord Blackwood if you would make arrangements to select 8000 of your men and put them under command of Lord Ryger with orders to defend the Riverlands from agression by the North or Westermen." Grafton looked around the room once again. "If there are no other objections, I believe it is time we strike camp here and move on King's Landing."

Dominic Grafton turns to Lord Barclay. "My Lord Barclay. I understand you have some measure of experience at sea. I would like that you should command the King's fleets during this time of strife. Would that assignment sit well with you?"

"I do, Lord Grafton, and I would be honored to lead our fleet in the name of the King. I shall put my uncle, Alexius Blackwood, in charge of my foot and horse. Where would you have me sailing first?"
