"I don't like it." Erik shakes his head. "Who the fuck are they, anyway? Where've they come from?"

"They come from the Shadow, east of Asshai. I don't know all the details, but I know they live in a land which spits dust and ash into the sky from some volcano, and that they live under the ground to avoid the harshness and heat. They aren't sailors, that's for damn sure, but they have numbers.. gods, if what they tell me is true, beyond imagining. King's Landing will look like Stoney Sept to them."

Erik's eyebrow rises when he hears the divine plural, but he says nothing. "Mole-men from the lands of Sunset, then? Think I may have heard a story or two about them." He taps his hand on his leg. "But what about me, my liege? I'd like to get some fighting in. Can I steal a horse or two, and catch the marching hosts, or do you have something else in mind?"

"You're one of the more... diplomatic of us. You've lived in King's Landing, and you understand these greenlanders and their ways, even as you rightly spurn them. Do you think you could sway any of the Riverlanders to turn for us? If you could it would bolster our chances greatly. Offer whatever is necessary. You may take 1,000 men from Riverrun to escort you. Get what men as you can, and than seize any keep which doesn't surrender. If we can use Riverlanders to conquer Riverlanders, it will spare us trouble."

Erik grins. "Of course. With the provision that I keep the keep of my choice, seeing as Bear Island's taken. And I hate to haggle, but 2,000 men would make it a touch more feasible."

"Coldiron, you can have any keep you pay the iron price for, and 2,000 it is." Harlaw said, laugh.

"Then we'll march in the morning, Your Majesty." Erik replies, approaching the throne with his hand outstretched to shake. "Also, Dagon, have you considered diplomatic options with the North? They don't seem to be doing much of anything except taking my island, and, well, Harrenhal seems like a more worthy seat anyway. Stark might be willing to work with us, if there's a crown in it for him."

"Lord Coldiron, that is a wonderful idea. I'm so glad you made the right choice." Dagon said. "Consider it done."

"Wonderful, Dagon. You're a wise man, and should make a fine king. But I," Erik claps his hands together and grins, "Am fucking famished. Wouldn't want to impose on you, of course, I'll just head down to the kitchens and see what can be found. Can't go to war on an empty stomach. Clouds the judgment."
He bows again and makes his way out of the hall.

A man arrives at the castle, wearing a rather colorful, flamboyant ensemble and sporting a dashing moustache.
"Tell the King that Mortimer Pyke's come to pay his respects." He tells the guards.

13,000 northmen, 8,000 riverlanders, and 250 crownmen set siege to the ironborn within Riverrun. Olander Reed, his company of northern warriors, and any leaders crown or river who wish to join him set out to parlay with the ironborn captain.
